Wakaba and Sota http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3iserd_1220-全日本前特集-6-次世代スケーター-樋口-山本_sport
Wakaba had a back injury to deal with at the beginning of the season. She's determined to get on the podium at Nationals

Just being adorable together in Barcelona last year and this year. They have a great friendship and rivalry which I hope pushes them both to the top.
Also, Yuzu told Shoma on the podium that linking arms (the way Shoma thought he was supposed to do) is what you do at a wedding. That's why they were both laughing so hard on the podium.

Youngest Male skater in Nationals this year. Studied Chaplain movies to get the feel of the character for his LP.
"Chaplain is not just funny, he shows many emotions."

Chaplin, Interspectator! Chaplain means something else! But man, Koshiro is so cute!!!

Satoko's training includes going through her whole program in her mind with a timer, WITHOUT music on a noisy moving bus. She says it helps her raise her concentration.

I'm very familiar with this. Whenever I learn new songs or prepare to perform live music I do the same thing. I used to train with a personal trainer who taught me to visualize things like upcoming musical performances or to relive an entire weekend of events while I was running or doing jump rope and that type of stamina training. It combined me not only gaining physical strength but removing my mind from that process and more importantly a way to exercise and expand the sharpness of my mind. To this day when I go jogging or am preparing for a musical performance I'll spend lots of time exercising my thoughts. Whatever she is doing is working because she is so precise with every movement. I'm really intrigued to learn when other people do what I was afraid was sort of a mental sickness of mine  I wonder if she has any hints of OCD ;)

How interesting.
Her coaches say that Satoko has had to train harder and longer than the other girls in their group because she has or had the least natural talent. The last to land a double axel, the last to get any of the jumps. Since she and her coaches know that she's behind in natural ability, she makes up for it by training her stamina and making sure every move on ice is accounted for. She's fascinating to me because it shows how much you can will yourself to be better.

How are they sure her learning her jumps later was a talent issue rather than a had-to-jump-the-opposite-direction issue?

It wasn't only her jumps they mentioned, it was that she was slower than others to learn physically. But, I'm sure she must have some talent to go with her perseverance.

what was the joke ?
The director compliments Yuzu after the shooting, "you may not think so, but you are a genius with your (facial) expressions" (Hyoujou) and Yuzu turns it into a pun "Only on ice" which is said the same "Hyoujou". Just the Kanjis are different. The boy likes puns.

YUZU AND MAO, the final fluff
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3j69pd_1223-全日本前特集-9-真央の全日本物語-羽生-決戦の地へ_sport
Yuzu's comments after Skate Canada: I just have to do everything right. No one but a skater knows the difficulty of this. I WILL do it definitely, otherwise what's the point? I wouldn't be worthy of being Olympic champion otherwise.
Yuzu doesn't know exactly why he was able to skate perfectly when he hadn't before. "I think the cogs finally are coming together" "Each performance I add the emotion I'm feeling at the time. in Canada, (LP) the anger I was feeling, NHK, the support of the crowd, GPF man vs nature and holding myself together. It's certainly not my own power alone, a group effort" -The emotion added makes the performance live.

Good luck to all skaters at Japan nats!
