I think you are underestimating the possible difficulty of using Red Brick for Challenger streaming -- even if we could ignore the cost issue, which would be significant.
The first six Challenger comps take place within the JGP season.
I get the impression that Red Brick is a small company (not a criticism), and I am not so sure that it has the manpower to easily cover more than one comp at once (never mind three at once, as would be necessary next weekend).
For example, our patron saint Ted Barton himself cuts all the individual videos at the same time that he is giving live commentary (per sabinfire's conversation with him at Skate America last year). All hands on deck is the vibe that I get.
Free access to JGP streaming was/is brilliant marketing (although not Ted's original motivation), because the streaming makes a huge difference in getting us exposed to and invested in juniors ... many of whom eventually will move up to seniors and continue to fuel our interest in the sport.
If the ISU were willing to make the same commitment to Challengers (whether with Red Brick or another production company), great.
But I'm not going to hold my breath.
