yesterday as if some ladies had to skate as a punishment. Kim Minchae also made such a face, but if the others don't be a little sharper, she will win the competition without jumps

I have to take my hat off to Aleksandra Nesterova. Coming back to the international stage after 5 years away. I don't know if she has been doing domestic competitions in that time. But, whether she has or not, what she has done this week is highly impressive.

Wow, I was not expecting a costume change! Yellow dress to blue dress!

Well, there are a lot of colours of dress to choose from in "La La Land". So, why pick 1 when you can pick 2?

Still curious to know who the coach sitting with her is. She's cute! Can't be that many years older than her skater.

Sofiya takes a big lead. But, probably not for long, because Minchae is up now.

I am enjoying these skaters. With the start of the Sr GP season it can be easy to overlook the work done by aspiring skaters. I root for them and appreciate being able to watch them grow.

Minchae .. Romeo voiceover.. different music cuts. Jumps look solid, lots of attack, smooth flow. Beautiful dress with a great deal of sparkle but dark gray .. she seems happy alone in K&C

Minchae's programme had everything. Rain, helicoptors , weird wailing...

Well, at least she's happier with how that went than she was with yesterday's programme.

Awww, the poor girl is left sitting on her own, because the coach has left to be with Dabin for the start of the Warm-Up. Well, better today than yesterday, when she needed comforting.

No doubt about it, she'll take the lead. The question is whether she will climb.

Whoa!!! Not just any old lead! A 35.91 point lead in the FS, and a 36.33 point lead overall!!!

Climb she will! With a score like that, the podium is definitely not out of reach.

That's my verdict on Antonina's music. Well, the music was good enough. It was the dialogue at the start and the wailing during it that was getting to me.

As for the skating, there were mistakes.

She only had a 3.37 point lead over Minchae, and will need to smash her PB to pieces to stay ahead. So, she will drop behind her.

Oh, she's actually dropped behind Sofiya as well.

One of the songs that Kristina GRIGOROVA (BUL) was skating to was "Voilà" by Barbara Pravi. And I looked up that song earlier on to check what the accent in the word was for a post in another thread!

Again, like Dubinina, she fell.

Will she stay ahead of Farafonova? (No point asking about staying ahead of Kim. We already know that won't happen).

She does. Into 2nd position.

This is the problem with somebody having a low scoring SP, and then taking a massive lead in the FS which everybody after them has to overcome. Because it puts a lot of pressure on the subsequent skaters.

And the pressure got to Gracheva. 2 falls.

She looked totally depresed coming off the ice, because she knew it wouldn't be enough to maintain her lead.

Still goes into 2nd, though.

But, there might be a chance of a change at the top coming up now.

Dabin .. solid skate. Dress is nice but a drab color. Legends of the Fall is such a tragic saga and it’s music fails to reflect that.. at least the cuts in this program.. she seems satisfied..
