Wow, the SD costumes for Mariia KAZAKOVA / Georgy REVIYA (GEO) are so like the SD costumes for Juulia TURKKILA / Matthias VERSLUIS (FIN). :jaw:

I hope they don't end up in the same group at Europeans, because it might be difficult to tell them apart from a distance during the Warm-Up!

Eleanor certainly is a fireball in that dress!

Unfortunately, they go into 4th out of the 4 that have skated.

I know opinion is divided on this costume of Anastasia Polibina's. But you have to admit, it looks spectacular when she is spinning.

They go into 2nd. But they are only a whisker off being 10 points behind Kazakova / Reviya.

I absolutely loved that programme from Liri GONEN COHEN (GBR)!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points:

What a way to start the segment!!!

I admit that I have a soft spot for French music. But the music in this went that extra mile. It even had "Ochi Chernye" with French lyrics!!!

The skating was good too.

I may have only come across her for the first time yesterday, but I am a fully subscribed fan now!

Oh, I hope she can climb some places. The 2 skaters directly above her are within half a point, so it is very possible.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIRI!!! :cheer:

Well, I've already passed comment a couple of posts ago about my love for French music. :p But, I'll add that this was one of my favourite songs from that year's Eurovision.

Sophia had a fall early on in the programme. But, apart from that, the programme went well.

Both Sophia and Margaret are delighted, and are having great craic while waiting for the scores.

She goes into 2nd in the FS, and overall.

:cheer: WELL DONE SOPHIA!!! :cheer:

P.S. And I didn't notice, Liri is no longer in last position. One of the German girls had a nightmare FS (4 points in deductions  ), and dropped down below her.

I wasn't able to write this at the time. And then after I did write it during the Warm-Up, I managed to accidentally delete it. So I had to start all over again! :drama:

Hanna KEIß (DEU) had some interesting music. It started off with a guy singing. Although he was singing in Spanish, it made me think of the type of singer and song that @elektra blue told us was popular in Italy amongst her parents' generation. But then a female voice joined in, and I recognised it straight away. It was Shakira! 😲

Then there was a very random change of music. It changed to a song that I have heard many times over the years, but I don't know the name of. But, before the vocals kick in, it always tricks me into thinking that I am listening to "Winter" from Vivaldi's "Four Seasons".

Hanna doesn't have an ISU Bio yet, so I can't check the music there.

When I was looking for the information, I found Hanna's Instagram page, and the penny finally dropped. Although I didn't realise that it was her, I have seen Hanna many times before. Because she is also a model for a sportswear company here in Northern Ireland (you know the one!)

Iida KARHUNEN (FIN) skating to "Bohemian Rhapsody"

:cheer:   :party2: :points:

And it wasn't a cover. It was the real thing! ;)

I know I'm biased because that's my favourite song of all time, but I loved that programme.

I liked the way she had a yellow jacket and white skirt, echoing Freddie's famous costume. Put it like this, it worked a lot better than the guy I watched earlier (can't remember who, or whether it was in the Junior or Senior SP), who did a Queen programme, but had the right side of his costume yellow and the left side white.

She goes into a very narrow lead in both the FS and overall.

Kicking off the Free Skate is my fellow Ulsterman.

Hopefully he will end up as happy as Sophia was earlier in the Junior Ladies!

The first few elements went well, but then he had a double hands down on a Triple Salchow. And that meant he couldn't put the combination on, so he got called for a repeated element.

He had a couple of rough landings later in the programme but, on the whole, the late stages went well too. It was just that Salchow that was a problem.

Still looks as disappointed as he was yesterday. But, in my eyes anyway, this went better.

:cheer: WELL DONE DILLON!!! :cheer:

I just realised. Matias is here, but Fanny is in Tallinn (currently 11th in Senior Ladies after the SP).

You'd have thought that the two of them would have been sent to the same event.

Also, where's Viveca? Is she with one of her younger siblings? Or is she maybe in Espoo watching the GP?

Hey, you never know, she might have a host spot in the Gala!

Awww. Lovely scenes when Hugo Hermann was getting his results.

He was accompanied by his coach and a wee girl. And I would nearly bet that the wee girl was his sister, because you could see a resemblance between them.

And when the scores were announced, the two of them had a great celebration, jumping up and high-fiving.

It just made you so happy to be watching!

Right, there's going to be podium ceremonies for the Juniors shortly. But, I am going to eat now.

Iida was great, I saw this program on JGP and had a look at it today as well.

And congrats Stefanie! PB and a SP win :dance3: and it wasn't even 100% perfect

The senior men cateagory is held for Nikita but I'm sad that Noah had some troubles.

Because I know that I won't be able to watch the Senior Ladies FS LIVE today (it is at dinner time), I decided to watch the Senior Men's SP first, as I know I will be finished eating by the time they start their FS.

I've just finished the Men, and have started into the Senior Ladies SP. Before starting, I looked at the Time Schedule to find out how long it lasted, to work out if I could get it and breakfast fitted in before the LIVE action starts today. And it said just over an hour. And I thought "eh?! But there are 11 of them. How on Earth do you expect to get through 11 Short Programmes in an hour?!"

Then I looked at the timings for the individual skaters, and saw that they were only allocating them 4m 40s each. And I thought "Well, that explains why we have been running so far behind schedule every day. It is not realistic to expect the skater to do their programme and the Judges to do the scoring in that short a time".

For comparison, at this week's Senior GP in Espoo, the slots for the skaters in the Ladies SP were 6m 20s long. And at the Tallinn Trophy, the slots were 5m 56s (very strange number!)

I hope the organisers of this event take this on board and make the slots longer. Because people make plans based on the published schedules. And it really messes up those plans if things run as far behind schedule as they have been.

It's better to be realistic from the outset rather than idealistic.
