Forgot she had gone blonde!

First jump was beautiful.

Not sure how the combination that she did next went because she was in the fog.

The combination spins looked beautiful.

She nearly went round too many times on the third jump.

What I could see after that looked good.

Stream started buffering 2m 24s into the programme, and came back just as the music finished at 2m 51s.

Ah, I forgot the FFSG events had these detailed graphics that tell you how each element went. And she got a 1 point deduction for a time violation.

She goes into 5th with a score of 49.03. New ISU Season's Best score for the SP.

At 14 and 16, Behnke/Sauve aren't just the youngest team here, but in general one of the youngest pairs teams competing internationally. Pretty solid outing for them, the lift looked a lot better than at Next Gen camp.

And they've been skating together since around 2018!

That was a predictably messy Free Skate for Pazienza/Knorr, they just need some more time to gel as a pair and become comfortable with the twist and lifts. Cool that they are doing 2ATh though. I'm guessing we'll see them at Bavarian Open next year? Last chance to get Jr Worlds minimums, after all.

Not a bad skate for Moudden/Garcia, apart from the 3Li and maybe the twist everything looked pretty good.

Unfortunately a quite messy Free Skate for Behnke/Sauve. They attempt a very ambitious technical layout, and it's not quite working yet. Their height difference is a little bit small currently, and he doesn't yet have the muscles to work with that, but we'll see how they'll look in a year or two.

I'm ashamed to admit how long it took me to twig that Linda de NARDIN / Patrizio Romano ROSSI LOPEZ (ESP) were skating to the "Star Wars" music. Not being played by a full orchestra made it sound so different. It was only when I noticed that I was humming along about 2 minutes into the programme that I finally realised what the music was!

Napolitano/Comi and Callahan/Roch achieved their Jr Worlds TES minimums here (even if C/R are unlikely to need them, considering Canada only has two spots at Jr Worlds).

And now for the longest competition of the day. 22 girls, arranged into two groups of 5; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 6.

Although I have a kid in the final group, I won't be watching because I haven't seen the SP yet. I'll be leaving during it anyway to eat, so I am going to watch the Short Dance so that I can watch the Free Dance later.

Just finished eating and am popping in to watch my kid LIVE, before I head back to the Short Dance.

Lovely combination to start off with. And it continued that way with the next jump.

Maybe a bit too much of a gap between the two parts of the second combination she did. But the jumps themseles were good.

And that was the only slight thing I could pick out as maybe being an issue. Because everything else looked faultless.

You know, Chiara may have just put herself into contention for a podium position, and maybe even the win. It will all depend on how the remaining skaters in this group get on.

2nd in the FS, but into the overall lead.

And like yesterday, her FS score is marked as an ISU Season's Best. But, it is also a new ISU Personal Best.

With Canada sending some JRs here why not send along a few SRs too. It just seems they are stuck in a rut of sending skaters out to only one event. Did any CAN skaters even get 2 Challenge events? Other countries send the same skaters out to at least 2 events and sometime 3 or even 4.

Fée Ann Landry is .31 away from a bronze medal here. Not bad at all for her. 154 points and dust.

And she got good PCS. Just think what she might do if she got a 2nd event. And think what Justine might have done here in SR Ladies. I am sure she is still flying high after her 3rd place at ACI. I can see them not sending the ones slated for SCI but there are a few others they could have sent.
