Oh, man...I watched that whole VK video and I was mesmerized. Too bad solo ice dance isn't recognized by the ISU. :sad4: Actually, Victor Adoniev would be really good at that, too. But yeah...there's got to be a girl somewhere in the world who is a good match for Prince Charming. I don't care if he has to skate for Lichtenstein, I just want to see him again!

Certainly with his beautiful edges he can learn ice dance. But I wonder if Russian coaches' hesitation to take him on has to do with his bad back and potential lifting problems. That could be disastrous.

On Friday the scrap book respectively the scrap books have been given to Adian. :yahoo:

I received so many messages from you that I actually had to make two books (= 88 contributions and Adian has evidence that he has fans on every continent – most fans were from Russia, U.SA., China but also fans from Brazil, Mexico, Vietnam, Egypt or Australia participated). This is really great – thank you all who made it possible that this project to became very special.

To surprise Adian a bit more at (just in case he had noticed something is going on which he luckily didn’t) we also asked Elena Buyanova and Sergei Voronov to sign the book (Sergei’s words being once more proof that Eteri’s statements why he left her were total nonsense – when reading I was so angry about her ). And at the opening of CoR Stephane Lambiel also wrote something nice for Adian.

As I received so many contributions (and also asked people to contribute till the very last minute) the project unfortunately became a bit chaotic: I had planned to give the book my friend Tatiana Flade at ONT in Bratislava who should then give it to Adian at CoR. But I simply didn’t manage to get everything ready. So I changed plans and went to CoR and thus had a chance to be present when Adian received his book. Elena Buyanova helped us a lot with giving tickets to CoR and telling him he should attend. ;)

Adian’s reaction to the present was just priceless – he seemed to be almost shocked that so many people wish him well. And when we told him Stephane wrote something ins his book he asked “for me????” (No Adian, in your book but for Plushenko ). It’s just incredible how modest he is. And shy (I’m a shy person as well, but I’d consider myself a crazy extrovert person compared to him ). It was great I got to know him in person, what a sweetheart.

I’m very happy that thanks to all of you Adian received a great present which I hope will also boost his confidence a bit and show him support to continue as a dance. So thanks again to everybody participating in this project. This was the third scrap book project for me (though with prior ones I did only the organizational part, not the setting up of the book) and with the response and getting to know other fans of Adian a very special one. Certainly it was a lot of work, but every second invested was worth it. I’m very happy it could be realized and that Adian has been given a nice memory on his single career and that he knows he has dozens of fans behind his back wishing him well. :hap10:

Here are a few pictures concerning the preparation of the scrap book and the handing over:

I’m really happy Adian is no longer ashamed of wearing glasses. One didn’t need to be an ophthalmologist to notice he is noticeably short sighted, so it was about time. :( By the way I wonder, if Adian still considers himself not good looking – when I picked him up in the arena (we gave the books to him in the press area) a lot of girls wanted to take pictures with him and certainly not because of him being ugly.

Me too! I actually asked Adian if he’d be prepared to skate for another country if this would enable him to continue competing and he said yes, at this stage he'd be prepared to try everything. So if anybody of you knows a tiny, light girl looking for a not too tall partner outside of Russia – please let her know that one extraordinary talented Russian skaters is on partner search. :)

Certainly with his beautiful edges he can learn ice dance. But I wonder if Russian coaches' hesitation to take him on has to do with his bad back and potential lifting problems. That could be disastrous.
I think the back is part of the problem. As far as I know doctors allow Adian to do ice Dance (Adian mentioned that to other fans). But I understand that coaches / possible dance partners might have doubts if Adians back will hold up in the long run. Plus Adian switched very late and he is not very tall and he has a very slight build. So he needs a very tiny partner. He made an announcement for ice partner search at tulup:
https://tulup.ru/partnerview2983.html

He seems to be coached by Rubleva now. (I didn’t ask him much, as it was actually planned to do an interview with him, but it then didn’t work out as Tania had to leave for a press conference). I just so much wish he will get the possibility to continue. This boy loves skating so much and has to fight so much for his dream - it's about time that some positive karma sets in.

Wow, ewdokia! It's so cool, and so endearing, and the present is great. You've done an amazing job! :agree: I hope, too, that it will help to boost Adian's spirits, seeing that so many people support him.

A little bit of news - Adian is invited to comment Skate Canada at the Telesport channel :yay: It's the same channel where Yulia debuted as a commentator at Rostelecom Cup last weekend (as well as Elena Ilinykh). Now all three of them are going to comment Skate Canada.

Looks like Adian is still not so shy as we thought... ;)

I think he still is - when giving the books to him, I had to pick Adian up in the Arena and bring him to the press area and he wanted Masha Sotskova to come with him. So following a total stranger for a surprize he didn't know anything about obviously didn't feel comfortable for him.

But while still reacting a bit shy at times, he changed a lot. Here is the Russian Nationals 2015 press conference after the free program:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmBogGW3uew

Would you ever have thought that his boy who could hardly speak in public, whom you could hardly hear, just less than three years later would do live TV commentary with more than half a million people following? :yay: (And certainly that time no one would have thought Adian would have to retire from single skating less than a year before the OG :sad21:)

I'm so bummed that he was forced to retire at such a young age due to injury. A few years ago, I was so excited for the future of figure skating because of the incredibly talented juniors such as Adian, Shoma, and Sota. His skating and jumps were absolutely gorgeous and a bit reminiscent to yuzu :luv17:. I will always miss his presence on the ice but I hope to see him do amazing things off the ice. Go Adian :yahoo:!

I am glad to see a new generation of young commentators. If only we have the same for English commentary.

New interview in English:
http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=interviews&id=2017adianpitkeev

Talks about his back injury, programs under Buyanova and him switching to dance plus more. Long interview.

Thank you for publishing Remy Rose! I know we shouldn’t post twice the same things on this forum, but I think this might go in the edge as well? A lot of people who’d be interested in news about Adian possibly don’t check the fan fest section (in particular due to the news vacuum we were suffering for so long :slink:)?

This interview made me so sad. I knew that Adian had a lot of treatment, how hard he tried to come back, that he tried multiple times. But I didn’t know that he still has so serious problems. I was very happy that Adian switched to ice Dance as I thought with that his back should at least cause no problems in everyday life. :(

And this interview also makes me angry – at age 19 Adian now knows that it was the wrong decision to skate at RN and also how intensively he trained right before Nationals (while already being in pain). You would assume a professional coach like Eteri should have come easily to the same conclusion and simply prevented her underage skater from competing. :angry2:

I’m also mad about how athletes are treated in Russia. I understand that no one is willing to pay treatment in the U.S. any longer, but you would expect that athletes who had to retire due to injury at early age would at least still get free basic medical treatment to relief possible discomfort and pain. I really hope his back condition can still improve and that Adian can continue in dance, though I’m really worried know. But at least it looks like he might have a great future as a choreographer ahead. Maybe he can even compose music for skaters. :)

Some more updates – on 2nd december Adian participated at a master class with Victor Adoniev, here you can find pictures:
https://vk.com/album-58643094_248892104

And this is a clip of Adian playing a piece of music composed by himself on his guitar:

During Russian Nationals till New Year Adian was invited to give a coaching camp in Surgut (Siberia). The kids there took some very nice pics – apparently they were quite happy with their coach (one girl wrote in her instagram “Adian you are great” :)):
https://vk.com/wall-70359150_43390

How the author publishing these pics commented them made me laugh: “What can be done that the heart doesn’t beat that intense when watching these pics? Maybe breathing exercises?” I guess it's time for Adian to think of modelling as another funding source.

And some more pics from a Russian fan site:

In any case I hope it helped Adian a bit to finance his ice dancing. After the recent interview I’m really worried how things are developing for him with that. :scratch2:

And back home one of the the first things Adian did was playing the guitar. There is a new clip on his instagram with another music piece composed by himself:

A few updates on Adian:

According to his Russian fanpage he will participate in a coaching camp at the end of march (as 2nd jump coach):
https://vk.com/wall-58643094_2056

This is basically a camp organized by CSKA (other coaches participating there are Alexander Uspenski and Maxim Savosin), it’s good to see he is still in good ties with his former club. However, no news on how ice dancing is going for him unfortunately. :(

Some time ago Adian posted a new clip of him paying the guitar on his instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BeqHASyhhWd/?taken-by=adyanpitkeev

It’s again music composed by himself. :)

Today is Adian’s 20th birthday! :hap10:
So happy birthday Adian, good health, much luck & happiness, may your dreams come true! :hb::hb::hb:

Today is of course a good time for a few updates! :)

At the end of March Adian together with Roman Savosin, Alexander Uspenski and others participated in a training camp in Sergeiev Posad. Here are a few clips of him on the ice from his official Russian fansite and another Russian fansite:

I particular like the last picture, signed as follows:
„Человек-скала, человек-терпение, человек-труд, человек-доброе сердце! Спасибо, дорогой Адьян Юрьевич! Респектище!”

“A person like a rock, a person with patience, a person of hard work, a person with a good heart! Thank you our dear Adian Jurevitch! Respect!”
Awww! Kids in general seemed to love Adian. :yay:

He will participate in a similar camp in August in Bashkortostan: https://www.instagram.com/p/BiMyif-jMqm/?taken-by=figure_skating_league

And you may find more clips and pics on this Russian fansite:

Unfortunately no news yet on his ice dance activities. To be very honest I’m not too optimistic any more at this point. :( But I’m happy it looks like Adian will become a really good coach and choreographer. He by the way also re-opened his ask (https://ask.fm/AdikPitkeev - thank you for this Elizaveta!!! :yahoo:), and being asked what he enjoys more, coaching or choreographing, he stated he likes both:
https://ask.fm/AdikPitkeev/answers/147770147918

There are many figure skating coaches in Russia, but not all of them are good choreographers as well, so this is very good news.

Who likes may by the way leave a birthday message for him on his official vk-page or his Instagram:
https://vk.com/adyan_pitkeev or https://www.instagram.com/adyanpitkeev/ :)
