I think SC chose the easy option. Why worry when you have the option to quit. They could have postponed for a couple of weeks to allow testing and quarantine. I didn't understand even the lowering of the number of skaters from 18 to 12. Why? (I am aware of social distancing) Still a big rink could/should accommodate 18 skaters+18 coaches+ judges at one time with all the covid rules. When an event ends all skaters should leave the rink with a shuttle bus. Use a charter plane to bring all skaters to Vancouver. No money for all this? look for sponsors! A lot of work! It's much easier to quit.
