:sad14: Bad news! What I was afraid of has happened. I just heard that the ISU has cancelled the World Championship! :sad4:

I am more upset about this than by the disruption of my own plans by the closing of many institutions in Poland. The athletes have worked so hard for this event :( But safety of course comes first. I hope everyone is coping well. Deniss was hoping to feel satisfaction after Worlds – I hope he can still feel it after this season. It's been a good season, with many good moments.

Certainly it was much better season than the previous one. Also for us as we could bet which of two beautiful SPs he would skate at the competition ;)
He improved 3A and started to get overall better GOE on jumps (I would never understand the difference in GOE , from -1 to +3, on the jump). He also got his first 9.50 (at Rostelecom, for the music interpretation ).

However I can't help laughing when I remember some silly moments, like getting –1 (!) TES for a jump (fall on invalid 3Lz at Nepela) what is the only such a case I know, or zayaking 2T at Europeans...

I was hoping to watch Skate Canada-like SP and Nordic Open-like FP at Worlds. Never mind, I can wait :). Just want him to be in good health and safe.

Waiting for the next season and new, even more beautiful programs, I've been watching his best FS of the 2019/2020 season.

For those who were (as I was) worried about Deniss' travel to Montreal: it seems that team Champery didn't leave at all as they had arrival to Canada scheduled on the 15th (it's one more reason to be happy of Shoma joining the team: much more news ;)).

Fancam from last EC - some part were showed earlier, but there are some new scenes (my favourite moment: Deniss asks Kevin for instruction how to flow on besti squat: https://youtu.be/QvmyCv_xkd0?t=310)

There was an overall good vibe about it despite some obstacles such as an injury. Deniss's first Challenger medal, winning the Nordics, the best SP score ever, the highest GP placement and overall the best senior GP season.

The Nepela zayak is something I'd rather forget about  The Euros zayak I don't mind that much because with his injury it could've gone much worse. Still, I hope we'll never see a solo 2T, 3T-3T or a 2S-Eu-2S (a gala special) again ;)

Same. It looked like his FS was gaining momentum and I really wanted him to put it all together at Worlds. On the plus side, he'll have more time to rest his ankle.

Waiting for the next season and new, even more beautiful programs, I've been watching his best FS of the 2019/2020 season.

I rewatched it too. It was a great way to end the season, even if we didn't know it yet! Are be betting on how many programmes Deniss will have next season? 2, 3, 4?

Now that I'm working from from home for 2 weeks (or however long this situation lasts), I'm planning to indulge in rewatching of some comfort performances, including the following:

My favourite moment is the spiral :dbana:  I hope he includes it in a gala programme maybe. He has quite a few tricks up his sleeve that he doesn't show nearly enough.

That was a looong K&C again. I wonder what Stephane's comments were ;)

Btw, I've just remembered that in one of the interviews at Nepela Deniss said that maybe he should post more of his culinary creations online. Well, now it's a very good time to do it, Deniss :)

The interview for the "Quadruple Axel" Deniss gave in Linz (Russian translation: https://vk.com/@denissvasiljevs_fanpage-izo-vseh-sil-ne-ostanavlivayas; photos (?) of Japanese original on the bottom of the page).

A lot on Shoma and the assets he brought to the team (and on onigiri and meat Shoma's mather served for the lunch). But also about the injury which was caused by practicing 4T (what's not a surprise...) and how he felt about his program for the season.

What's new about Bloodstream:
I used some of my ideas when we created the transition from the Clair de Lune part to the second part.

Reading about Deniss's injury is still painful, even after 2 months :sad21:

I never tire of Deniss talking about baking. You can always feel his enthusiasm. I hope he was able to bake that cake for Shoma's mum or that he'll be able to do it now (6 hours - talk about patience).

I don’t know if closed to the public means closed for the Skating School, but at least this is happening in the off season. I hope everyone in Champéry and all of you are safe.

Plenty of time for Deniss to bake, at least?

At least they didn't leave for Canada and aren't stuck abroad now that countries are suspending air travel and closing their borders.

Covid-19 prevails over the world and there is at last some time to focus on something else than daily work.

It really hurts that we were denied the pleasure of seeing the championship.:sad4: It has always been my spring sports enjoyment. At least I’m happy that could see Deniss in Latvia.;)

A lot of thanks to the fans group for the great job on Deniss’ interviews. I read them with great pleasure.:clapper:

Although it’s off- season, I would like to hear more news from Champery - how they are getting on, what they are doing and so on.

But I can imagine Deniss reading a lot, writing a lot, baking and drawing!

Deniss certainly has a lot of hobbies to cultivate :) Maybe he can work on his singing too.

It's also a good time to do uni work.

And yes, hopefully we'll get at least some team Champery updates in the off-season. Chris, please feed us :p

I was surfing on the Internet and accidentally came across documentary videos on Deniss’ first choreographer Benoit Richaud. :2thumbs: I liked his artistic approach and vision, it seemed interesting. Now Benoit is really successful.

He talks very positively about Deniss as his first attempt in choreography. Deniss’ performances were so lively, playful, dynamic and full of joy. They were very much in his nature. :dance3:

And then I realized that I am eager to see some more of their collaboration. Indeed! I would never say that I don’t like Deniss' programs. I do like them. But just to try another style. Of course, he is no longer a teenage boy but it could be a challenge and interesting experience for both of them.

Deniss has definitely figured out to what music he is going to skate next season. I would also like to know but he usually is mysterious about it.

I'd rather say that Deniss was a first skater Benoit worked with :)

I like "Puttin' on the Ritz" very much and would like to see Deniss in energetic and funny program at least every second season ;)
And yes, it would be interesting to see what Benoit could do with Deniss five years later. The more last season Kaori's FS and Bradie's SP were so interesting.
HOWEVER if I could choose a choreographer I'd like to work with Deniss the most, at least once - it would be Shae-Lynn Bourne.

From a major daily newspaper in Bangladesh

:agree: for the photo - and  for Bangladesh (I mean... Bangladesh? Surely I'm over the moon that people in Bangladesh got to know Deniss, but... why on Earth in Bangladesh...?).

Apparently this whole quarantine made me too lazy to post for a couple of days :p

I think in the present situation it's getting more and more likely that "the secret project" will be Deniss's new FS and I'm very excited for it without even knowing what it is :) Ideally, I'd like one deep and one upbeat programme (or multiply it by however many programmes Deniss wants to have )

Apparently my body and mind refused to accept the Worlds' cancelation so I'm ready to watch Deniss... ;)

How about TMIL at Skate Canada? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6ySIOjlaGw (just 0.07 pts to small bronze - the best result ever at GP).

Or maybe at EC - Gala Ex with Spanish comment - the lady has been always so nice towards Deniss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrArXxnbFt8

I rewatched these too :) At least I wasn't stressed as I would have been with Worlds going on. This programme is so good!

It just appeared so I believe Deniss is in good health and has been working on his good shape :)

Seriously, the situation in Switzerland is so scary that the only relief is Champery is a village naturally isolated...

I'm so relieved to see them! It's unusual to see them so far apart but they are giving a good example of social distancing

I hope you're all doing fine these days and the same goes for team Champery :ghug:
