Overview: Aşk ve Ceza is a Turkish television drama series that aired in 2010-2011. Nunu Yeşilçay, Murat Yildirim and Feride Çetin starring, the series were shot in Van, Bodrum and Istanbul. In 2011, this series were broadcast also in Croatia in Nova TV. In Serbia, this series is airing from January 8, 2013 in 1PRVA. In Georgia TV Maestro started broadcasting this series on 15 April 2013.

This forum is for the wonderful Turkish series Ask ve Ceza - English - Love and Punishment. It is a beautiful love story between Savas and Yasemin.

A group of us have just finished watching Season 2 with English subtitles. We so enjoyed discussing on this forum what we were watching that we have decided to go back and watch Season 1 on Netflix starting with episode 1, and at the same time discuss it on this forum. We will start Oct 3. So come back and join us watching the show from the very beginning and discussing it together. We're starting with Netflix episodes 1-6. Each following week we will watch the next 6 netflix episodes. So go ahead and start watching those episodes and post your comments on those episodes. We love talking with each other about this beautiful fairy tale of a love story. Everyone is welcome!!

Understand that the original series had episodes 1 1/2 hours long, running 2 seasons from episode 1 through 62. Netflix took the episodes for season 1 (E 1 - 23) and cut them in half for the Netflix versions, so Netflix 1 - 43 is actually the original season 1 episodes 1 - 23. Enjoy and savor with us.

good to see you made it. I value your opinion and this time around i'm going to rethink cicek and do what Yasemin suggested to Savas concerning his mother and Seher, - don't judge her, try to understand her.

Haven't gone to bed yet and want to share this with you. Here's Yasemin's apartment - E3 you only see Koftecisi on the sign to the left of the entrance to her apt, but the entire name is Galata Koftecisi. Galata is the name of the tower that her apt overlooks at the window side of her apt. - 3 Camekan Sk or 1 Buyuk Hendek Cd

I see that Savas' father's name is Hasip not Hasib, at least that's the way it's spelled on his name plate that Savas has kept at the desk at the office. And I recognize the portrait of his father and brother but who is that older man in the middle portrait. I think we'll see it all over the place. Maybe it's Savas' Baldar grandfather.

I like how the Corleoni family is introduced - walking out of the airport one by one in full view of everyone, with a group gathered around them, wanting to say hello. Sahnur actually looks pretty in a veil other than black.

Yasemin has a younger looking hair style, but she's already wearing her father's angel necklace to work. And she's supporting Mehmet full time so that he can get his doctorate, what a mooch.t

And I just love the Van wedding scenes: the car wrapped up like present, horses gathered around the wedding couple riding through town with the riders carrying rifles! The gun shots when the couple appears together out of the building. It reminds me of a reality show here about American gypsies and the weddings they have.

this series is constantly filming in front of historic locations and it did here in Van, the wedding parade went right down Eski Kale Yolu in front of the castlle mound with a mosque in front. And why do the brides wear wedding dresses with a red ribbon around the waist. I've seen more than one Turkish bride dressed like that.

Did you notice that both Esref and Ishmael are present at the wedding.

And then oh my - that spit that Nazan gives her brother. I tried doing it and couldn't get how she did it. But then the physical violance in the family was surprising - Sahnur slapping her daughter in front of her brothers like she did.

And then we begin to learn about Savas' character: kind, good, educated, considerate of his family. And we start to fall in love with him!

Question - Yasemin and Mehmet both had keys to their upcoming joint apartment, why didn't Yasemin ever give Savas keys to her villa?

And then OMG caught in the middle of his affair and he shouts - you made me do it! I told you we needed to have sex. It's your fault. If you had slept with me I wouldn't have had to... My eyes rolled when I first heard that from him, What a sharp contrast to the patience and honest love of Savas for her.

For the life of me I can't see what is engraved inside that wedding band that we see before Yasemin throws it into the sea.

And now we have Savas meeting Yasemin at Cem's bar. It just occurred to me that he has been used to women falling at his feet his whole life. Now he has one that he is attracted to but she is not falling at his feet, but rather is talking back to him. He's not used to a woman being so bold with him. She's going to be a challenge for him, and a challenge he wants because he's attracted to her. Anyway I just love the bar and boat scene in these 2 episodes!

And then Savas is drawing a heart on the table with Yasemin's necklace and wants to hunt her down and Cem says who knows who she's sleeping with right now. Poor Savas already defending her - don't be ridiculous, she's not that kind of a girl! Love it. He already has a sense of who she is and that she won't be someone who is out to sleep with everybody. (she's angry, hurt, gave up her virginity because of it and is not a little high school silly girl)

I think that Kemal really loved Cicek. He says he waited for her for 10 years. She's about 20-21, he's about 32-33. He had to wait for her to become an adult, although I think girls married at a much younger age. I don't like the attitude he has - I AM KEMAL BALDAR. And I don't like his sexist attitude, dragging her away from an education, but she has no idea that he really loves her.
