Popping skate?

I have had Aura Sky 100s with MK Professional Lite blades for a little over a month now, and I've noticed a sharp popping sound when I land jumps. The sound itself is almost like an echo-ey clucking of the tongue. It has become more consistent and louder with time (enough to be heard over music). This only happens on my landing leg (right), and it doesn't seem to affect my performance. The blade is not loose and as far as I'm concerned was mounted properly. The only real problem is the sound, which is certainly becoming disconcerting. Does anyone happen to have any ideas about the origin of the "pop"?

What level of jumps are we talking? I would be concerned that there's too much torque on the lites and/or that the right blade is not mounted completely straight (or that maybe you underrotate, your weight could also be a factor).

Given that Aura are made from carbon fibre and thermoplastics the thought popped (ha) into my head reading this that maybe the plastic or carbon fibre in the ankle or tongue is making this noise as it rebounds from flexing on landing. If you think about taking a strip of slightly flexible plastic if you bend it strongly with pressure applied to both ends then when you let go it will pop as it goes back into place.
If this is the case and the noise is getting louder I’m concerned the material may be approaching the point at which it won’t be able to rebound anymore and will fail. However I’m neither an engineer nor a boot tech and I’ve never worn Aura so I would get them checked by your skate tech or a specialist Aura tech because either way this doesn’t sound (ha) right.

What is happening does not sound safe. Please get this checked ASAP (and don't jump in them until you do), by an authorized tech. My fear is the boot/materials are failing or there's some kind of defect possibly.

Good luck.

Thanks! I was putting off going to my skate tech (which is 30 mins away) but this makes total sense and I have to get my skates sharpened anyway and ask then. Better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks! I'll be heading to get it checked soon.

I'm working on doubles (underrotation is fortunately not a problem right now) and about 100 pounds. This mostly happens on singles through axels, occasionally on double attempts. I checked the bottom of the right skate and one mounting plate their is a small slightly raised, round bump that I can imagine being a bit hollow. None of my coaches think the blade is not straight and I don't really feel a pull or anything related to an improper mounting. But I'm definitely not a professional, so I'm going to get it checked out!!
