Shouldn’t Nathan Chen be first with 328.01 if we are using Nationals scoring? 🧐

But we are not. The national score for Hanyu is the only one that is available this season, so his score should only be treated as side information.

For sure I mean I wouldn’t include him as “1st” on seasons best… I’d put the seasons best of everyone’s internationals and list Hanyu as not having an international score but scored 322 at Nationals.

Plenty of the skaters in this list scored higher at their Nationals than their seasons bests.

If Chen had zero internationals and 328 at nationals he should also be off the seasons best list.

This is the actual season’s best list:

Well now Hanyu has an international score (283.21) so he can be officially on the list with a non-Nationals score. :)
