so much Shoma content! :luv17: :dbana: the K&C pics are really gorgeous.

I'm getting so excited (and a little nervous, but mostly excited!) for IDF. Hopefully Shoma is already in Grenoble, boots comfortably broken in, etc  Can't wait to see him skate again!!

Just... two days to Shoma's first GP aaaaah! Hoping everything goes well and he can be satisfied with his skates :luv17:

Some Shoma-related article reports from past competitions this season:

- Atsuko Kuryu from Absolute Skating has her Japan Open report up, including her impression of Shoma's FS debut:

Honestly, I was very surprised at Shoma's new program, which was choreographed by David Wilson. Shoma seemed quite different from what he has been in previous seasons. To me, he's been a skater with deep and heavy expressions, but here he was much lighter. He did make a big decision prior to this season: he decided to leave his long-time coach and enter the season alone. I guess he was on his way to find his new self and this change was a sign of the result. During the press conference he mentioned how very fond he was of this program. He also expressed how he aimed for the performance, not the win. He wanted to deliver a performance which he could say he enjoyed when it was over. Today's performance was analyzed with “I included only two quads in the planned elements, and still didn't make them flawless. Not because it was a competition, but now it's my normal state, even in practice”. I know how difficult it is to work alone without coaches, and sincerely hope his challenge will bare fruit.

- Inside Skating has their photo report from Finlandia Trophy up (fun fact: all gold medalists from Finlandia Trophy, including Shoma, will compete at IdF!)

In the men’s event, to the enjoyment of fans, and the enjoyment of skaters themselves, Japan’s Shoma Uno and Sota Yamamoto got to compete together, as in their junior years. They talked and smiled a lot during practices, press conferences, and they also shared the podium, with Shoma winning the gold, and Sota taking silver (anyone remembers the Junior Grand Prix Final in Barcelona, some years ago?). And, during the medal ceremony, Shoma was definitely the center of attention – fans screamed his name and fellow skaters made him stop for a picture or two.

Wow, everyday Shoma.:love::love::love:

Everyday Shoma indeed! Clips featuring Shoma at Gutto!Sports is already up on Twitter thanks to Mabt_3a4t, talking about his SP with Haruhi Ryoga, former Takarazuka performer:

I also do love the way he touches his neck in certain performances

Takeshi Honda was in kiss and cry with Marin with his credentials around his neck. Hopefully he can be there for Shoma.

Public practices tomorrow, yes?

Also, guys, do you know if the skaters normally stick to the World’s assignments? Like, it is very likely that Uno will be in Montreal, right?

Wait! Is this really him?! Is this our first pictures? And is that Takeshi or Demi-san with the I-pad?

Google Translation: A video of informal practice played at Guggoni It was good to record from this morning just in case!

YES! It really is him. Here's the video.

He’s so cute in that clip! And I loved the sweet letter he wrote to all the parents that was posted above. Hoping he arrived in France in good time to acclimate, and wishing him all the best at TdeF!

Yes, the DBC will be out in full force tomorrow at the practice...I'll be totally shocked if he is not at Worlds. Also pretty sad, since I already have my tickets. So YES, you should plan on coming.

I looked at pricing the trip today, and it’s not as bad as I thought, but we are still on hold with waiting on the layoffs, so dunno.

So, 4 quads, 3 different ones in the free? Fingers crossed! Can’t wait to see practice runs & need to check when they stream the short. I’m so impatient to see Uno, I might just try live feed.

I’ll be at work, so that means Internet blackout to not get spoiled on the results! It’s gonna be a long hard day. :)

Are you sure about this? Last Sunday they changed time in Europe and it looks like this week it's 6 hours difference between France and Chicago. But my calculations may be wrong, so please, check again :)

Oh, thank you! Thank you! Didn't realize they changed time before we did! I was checking a couple weeks ago, so it was different. Now Chicago is 6 hours behind. So Sho is at 9:47 am Chicago time. Hooray, don't have to get up early (still). Honestly, just to make things more difficult, my NBC Gold event reminder notices come in eastern time. Grrrr! (Now I accidentally deleted my other post. I give up!!!! :laugh2:)
FULL SCHEDULE. https://twitter.com/NathanChenJP/status/1189881664861687809?s=19

Adding -- we will put our clocks back one hour Saturday going into Sunday.

I usually check this source for correct timings:

I can't believe the GP event nearest my timezone has the men skating first and so I'll still be at work :drama:
I'll have to catch up on it later and hopefully avoid YT spoilers from videos of the top 3 :noshake:

Oh, gods, yes, Isu is the worst on spoilers. Like in JGP, I spent the whole day off the Internet, then turned on the utube, and they by whatever reason have the podium picture instead of the blue isu screen for medal ceremony clip right on top. :drama: good job, ISU. And they twit the results the moment of, without even like... maybe just giving a link to the results!

Call me crazy, but I want my suspense!
