Kovtun's skating leaves me cold - his presentation was lame in comparison to Bychenko and the others in the group so far. But he will probably get more marks than he deserves. Hope not.

LOL, people are going to lose their minds now. :laugh:

I think Kovtun was relieved that in spite of a shaky performance, he did enough to beat Voronov (since Fernandez was obviously untouchable).

Actually, although I wouldn't say I was a fan of Maxim, I agree with you. I thought it was a lot better than all the comments on here were suggesting.

????? In terms of choreography, transistion and skating skills he's much better than Voronov. Grade of execution maybe won't be OMG sooo high, but it should be decent. I'd be very surprised if he earned in PCS less than Sergei.
Oh, well he's got higher score :) Bravo! Comparing it to last year Euro's - such an improvement :)

I barely follow the men's field at all, so forgive me if I've missed something that's obvious to everyone else, but. . . why do so many skating fans dislike Kovtun so much?
