Nothing lasts forever
1 of our sports sites has a category with the gallery of our medalists that's titled 'Hello, 'Bild'!'so, Russians add today 2 gold medals and assure 4th place (in golds and total). But Germans will not learn about this (at least the readers of BILD) because:
http://sport.bild.de/olympia/medaillenspiegel/
the question is: who is on 4th place ?
CL_fan, you were ahead of me this time

my only concern is that Tokyo in the summer is the worst time of year. So humid and hot that it's difficult to breathe outside. They'll have to work out some genius solution so that athletes and spectators don't die of heat stroke. I'm sure they've got lot's of people working on the problem.
At the start of this exercise, karne was criticising the Total medal table as a “fake table the Americans came up with to make themselves feel superior”. Well, I have a feeling she will be saying differently now, as Australia finished up 8[SUP]th[/SUP] in the “fake table” but only 10[SUP]th[/SUP] in the “real table”!
Nope. Still a fake table. We were tenth on the real table because that's exactly where we deserved to be, no higher.

Ach, come on now. If I can be happy for your country getting a higher position by counting total medals, why can't you? ...
... And as long as the athlete achieves their personal goals (assuming they are realistic goals, of course!) – be it Gold, Podium, Top 5, Top 10, Top 15, Top 20, Top 30, World Record, Olympic Record, National Record, PB Score, SB Score, etc. – then we should all be happy for them. ....
