I wish I could make one for MAG but I have a very limited knowledge about the men! So far, the ones I mostly know (or heard about) are Ichimura (YEEEEAH THE KIINNNG), Kenzo Shirai, Sam Mikulak, Max Whitlock, Denis Abliazin, and Yang Hak Seon. Most of them are vaulters and floor specialists. I dont even know who's in Team China!

edit: fine but I'll make it later. Also to anyone who knows whats up in MAG, feel free to write it!
Omg, that's how much I don't know, I thought the W in "WAG" stood for "World":eek::

Thank you so much for volunteering your knowledge!!

Well USA's isnt unexpected. Totally knew that they're gonna be first.

Had a bit of a heartbreak with team China especially with uneven bars. Not a good way to start my day. But on the other hand, my faves are staying in the team! (Huang was rumored to be booted off the team due to her limited difficulties in the other apparatuses but nope shes here to stay b/c she is right now the most reliable one out of team China. Next year is going to be interesting b/c Wang Yan is planned to be included to the senior team.

Good job to team Russia for keeping strong. Its interesting since they don't have their best players at the moment. Cant wait to see if Viktoria and Seda gets into the team next year. Told ya Aliya is amazing!

YESSS TEAM ROMANIA!!!! GOOD JOB! Especially to Larisa!!!!

LOL @ the red podium

Ps. The mens intro is still on the works.

Absolutely thrilled/gutted for Romania (AKA Larisa Iordache!). Thrilled they managed to get it together for the team final and be within 0.5 (!!!) of bronze; gutted because they were within 0.5 points of bronze. Haha, you just can't win with me. Next year will be very interesting because of all the junior Romanian pocket rockets who will become seniors. This is just an off year for them. I look forward to seeing Iordache medaling in the AA, beam, and floor though. Her monster score in the TF (15.5) will be more than enough to win gold on beam. (Can you guess who my favorite female gymnast at these games is?)

If I learned anything new from the championships this year, it's than the Chinese women's team in 2008 was more of a fluke than anything. They simply crumbled here. And the US? What can I say? They are machines in regards to difficulty, execution, and and most importantly, the mental aspect of competing. I don't think they made a single major mistake in their 12 routines here.

I'm not gonna lie, I was mostly excited for Team Romania (which is basically Larisa Iordache) throughout the team finals. I can see her as the lock for AA silver but hey she might even win the gold unless Biles totally melts down (which might not happen). Plus so much more medals!

And I definitely have to agree with you on Team China. They're a mess. Even with their rotation choices, ugghhhh. I feel like they shouldve used Bai or Siyi in other apparatuses. They're not letting them get a chance and prove themselves. I feel kinda bad for Shang in UB tho. She already fell down and she looks like she just wanna stop. Sigh :no::eek:hwell:

overall thought: Larisa is basically the star of team finals for me (sorry not sorry team USA).

Another note: the home advantage to both chinese teams are so obvious and frustrating. Basically this team final is underwhelming for me.

Just finished watching Universal Sports' replays of the women and men team finals. Was actually surprised by how many points USA ladies won the event, especially since only Biles and Ross had been to Worlds before. Felt really bad for Romania, so close to bronze. Personally, I thought the men were much more exciting with Japan and China ducking it out for gold, and the bronze being a 3/4-way battle. Kudos to USA bringing it in the second half and earning bronze. Honorable mention to Great Britain. And Japan and China... Wow!

Actually the total score she got today on all four apparatus was 59.740, bigger than Aliya Mustafina's, Yao Jinnan's and Kyla Ross' scores and even Simone's 59.599 points from qualification. Anything is possible but I still think Simone is going to win.

Also while Team Romania was mostly supported by Larisa I am still very impressed by young newcomer Andreea Munteanu who managed to score a 15,200 on balance beam. Stanila and Ocolisan also had solid vaults. As always, uneven bars remains our weakest event.

This is a very young team and Nanning was their first Worlds so I think they did great, considering the financial problems and rough training conditions in Romania and also the resignation of long time national team coaches Bellu and Bitang. After all, compared to the US, China and Russia, Romania is a very small country. They should be proud of their result (even though I know the young ones are not) and the gold at the European Championships the past spring.

Congratulations to Kohei Uchimura for winning his 5th consecutive AA World title! It is truly a privilege to watch King Kohei executing almost perfect routines, his floor was particularly incredible.

Max Whitlock's silver was a nice surprise, he was very consistent throughout the rotations and so were Oleg Verniaiev and David Belyavskiy who were contenders for the podium up until the very last moment.

I'm very happy for Yusuke Tanaka! Very strong routines, especially his horizontal bar! He won the bronze medal with a very small difference of 0,024 points from the second place. For the last 3 years there's always been another Japanese gymnast accompanying Kohei on the podium: first Koji Yamamuro, then Ryohei Kato and now Yusuke. I remember his brother, Kazuhito Tanaka, was also close to winning a medal at the London Olympics but he had errors on his pommel horse routine.

Very exciting final!

I was so relived that Japan got two spots on the podium. Uchimura was solid all the way through, though he said he was disappointed with his pbar and highbar.
After the team competition, I'm happy that he could get this gold for himself and Japan again.

Right now, I'm watching a recording of the men's all-round (gymnastics), the ladies SP JGP figure skating, and the first round of the show jumping Final of the nations cup. Two eyes aren't enough. ;-)

WAG AA final was very unpredictable! Yao Jinnan and Aliya Mustafina both made costly mistakes and ended up missing the podium.

Simone Biles is an incredible competitor. Very consistent, very strong, very confident. Her Amanar vault was extraordinary! Thrilled to see Kyla winning bronze in spite of her injury! She's a very gracious gymnast.

I am ecstatic for Larisa! She finally made the podium after a disappointing finish last year! She could have done even better but I'm expecting her to get more medals in the BB and FX finals on Sunday.

I loved the floor routine by Iodache. So stylish and difficult at the same time.

FLOOR FINAL WINNERS - MAG
1. Denis Ablyazyn
Amazing job to him! Almost all stuck landings and good form and lines.

2. Kenzo Shirai
Awww bb! Too bad he wasn't able to defend his title. Quite a bit messy with the landings but good form throughout. Maybe he's tired? (arent all of them tired? lol)

3. Diego Hypolito
Good job to you! although I don't know you....:p
Quite a good program from him though

Other notes: Not surprised that Uchimura didn't get into the floor finals. That will be his weakness. All of the events are now saturated with specialists. Before he had the chance to get medals in the other event finals and now his chances are getting slim. He has to upgrade his difficulties if he plans to continue on getting more medals (other than AA and team).
