I thought it was a pretty fair score, but then I'm really worried for her.... Recently, she never seems to be able to land the triple-triple combination in the short....

I think Kostner's SP last season was better than this one. It wasn't bad but there was nothing particularly outstanding about it either. She's capable of better and you'd think Nichol would prepare something really special for her in the Olympic season.

I do think she deserved the score.

What was so breathtaking about the program? I don't see it.
Everything. How she LIVES the music, how she uses her arms, the detailed choreography, you could see that every single SECOND of that performance was related to the music and made sense:love: She made mistakes, and she deserves second place, but the PCS is well deserved!!

Adelina's score clearly she is still being politicked by her Federation
I don't see her as Russian No.1 , what do her Fed see so much in her ? :disagree:

all I see in Sotnikova is a Flutzer, cannot rotate a 3-3, popped Flips and a headcase
I'm gutted this almost scored the same as Julia's SP :disapp:

A lot of the choreography made little sense.

I don't see it. The score is okay, but I think the program is relatively bland and boring, no highlights, it just kind of dabbled along, and I already don't remember anything from it besides the fall. That's worlds of differences to last seasons SP. Hopefully her LP is up to her standard again, I'm really excited to see her skating to Sheherazade....

I'm gutted that it scored that far above Anna's SP.

Adelina got level 4 on all spins & steps UR on the 3Lp, of course.
Carolina got level 3 on 2 of the spins, UR on the second 3t
Anna got 0 to positive GOE from every judge on every skill. Level 3 on the step, level 4 on the spins. Great debut.

Who's the judge who kept giving negative GOE to Kexin's elements that other judges gave positive GOE? I don't particularly like her and I am not Chinese, but I don't like it when I see things like that... :( When every other judges give positive GOE and only 1 gives negative GOE, not just once but three times, that's wrong...

Adelinas 3Lz didn't get an edge call  it wouldn't have changed much, since she got -GOE anyway, but... and I thought the 3Lo looked really good rotation-wise, but it was clear she'd get an UR call anyway. I still like that she's going for it.

I agree about the first part of your comment that she is being heavily politicked by the Russian federation. But I still think she is one of the best choices for Russia along with Julia for Sochi. She did land her flip this time, so she might in fact stop popping her flip. We will see :)

I don't know whether she actually took off with the right edge or the technical panel just decided ignore it....

It looked like a flutz. I just felt it was weird, since I'd have expected it to be closer to a 3Lz(e)-3Lo than a 3Lz-3Lo<, but of course the most important thing for technical panels to do is to throw UR calls at 3-3Lo's.

Overall, it was a weaker field than in SA or SC. But I also think that the scores were not nearly inflated here as much as the two previous events. If the scores were inflated like in SA or SC, I think the scores here would have been a couple of points higher for the top few skaters...
