The score is pretty good, 66.75 with the fall. Tech score is actually higher than at Euros, the combo is in the 2nd half now ... looks like a very good strategy to me. ;)
I hope she'll go for it at Worlds, it would make the competition much more exciting. And the fall on the 3A didn't hurt her score and if she lands it it will really make a huge difference.

The promising thing I see is that the rest of the skate, judging from the protocols, didn't go completely to hell just because she missed 3A. I guess she might've two-footed the 3-3 a little, hence the GOE, but still pretty good for a first try (with the 3-3 in the second half at that).

Good to see the steps getting level 4. Bad to see the combination spin got level 3 again. I think the new layout (with all the jumps before the StSq) might leave everything too busy at the end, not giving her enough time for the combo spin?

I've been searching VK, Facebook, YouTube, etc... haven't found anything yet.

Best thing I've come across so far is this video of the Bavarian Open from today (Figure Skating begins at 25:49):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOzJCD9Sqzc

The video is all in German (no subtitles) and Liza is not shown in the figure skating segment.

Yes, I've seen that :( I just cannot believe that there is not a single fan who recorded it? Or figure skating became so unpopular in Germany?

Is there any interview with Liza after the SP? Right now I am watching the Pairs event of 4CC, which is very boring except for Pang/Tong's last dance.

Fancam (by Vladislav Mirzoev, Junior Pairs skater), Liza's 3A attempt at the Bavarian Open SP:
https://vk.com/video86640638_170664050?list=a61fac0027b4155a6d

I would say that it was a better attempt than the one she did at the Euros gala.
Thanks. I agree, better than the one in the gala. She looked like she almost had that landing.

Thanks, adelia. I think to include a 3A in her SP is highly risky at Worlds. Why not replace 3T3T with 3LZ3T in the SP? Liza still cannot handle this combinations so far?
There's been reports of her doing it since early season, but I guess it's not 100% consistent (and 100% consistent seems to be what she's going for with the SP). There's also some lost training time devoted to the 3A.

I actually think it could be a good idea to not "max out" so soon, but rather to pull what scores she can and gradually build on that in the coming years.

I think Mishin's reasoning is that she stands to gain more (if she lands the 3A) and lose less (if she falls on the 3A) compared to the 3Z-3T.

Liza withdrew from the Bavarian Open. After this morning's practice session, she had some pain in the abdomen so they decided to withdraw.
Mishin's statement: http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/20150214/807095108.html
Mishin also added that it's possible they will compete again before Worlds.

In another statement to the media, Mishin says their preparation to include the 3A for Worlds is going smoothly:

She posted this pic a couple hours ago so I doubt it's a serious injury. Just a precautionary WD.

"They will compete again before the Worlds"? Mishin's statement simply scared the wits out of me! Oh, I get lost for words now...

Actually - this scared me more:

"Mishin says their preparation to include the 3A for Worlds is going smoothly"

:jaw:

Scares me, but, I'll confess to you all... in an exciting kind of way.:) Of course, come Worlds' - I'll scarcely dare watch!

As for the competing part - Mr Mishin has said before that training facilities are actually better at competitions than at home, and that is another reason why she - and others of his students, no doubt - have been competing so diligently.
