Stream just started:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtxe9C-ip3U

And it started breaking up as soon as the pre-recorded stuff finished! :drama: :bang:

EDIT: It was only momentarily. It was alright by the time the skaters started coming onto the ice 10 seconds later.

So, according to the livescoring page, the second guy to go, Alexander ZLATKOV of Bulgaria, has withdrawn.

I hope they close up the gap.

And we're down to 16 skaters. Scoring page shows the Bulgarian, Alexander Zlatkov, as WD.

Whoops. Beaten to it.

Ah, but you put in that it meant we were down to just 16, which I hadn't realised.

Call me cynical, but I really hope the theme of that first programme was not a political statement.

The scaremongerers in the West keep saying that Putin has ideas of invading the Baltic States, and that it will lead the West to war with Russia.

And now we see an Estonian skater come out wearing a US army uniform.

I really hope this is complete coincidence. Because the ice rink is not the place for politics.

Part of his music is from the movie Pearl Harbor, which explains the uniform

Loved Khakimov's "Kong Fu Panda" programme. It really worked.

And great idea taking on the role of a particular character. He wore the same clothes as the tiger in the film, and even made it look as if he had tiger fur.

But, I'm confused. I thought the tiger was female...

That's always make me laugh
Don't worry, CaroLiza_fan. :console: If I understand right - he is Russian (and his coach too) just with Estonian passport. So it's okay. Even Krasnozhon wore US form in the last season, there is nothing political. :)

Phew! At least that explains it.

Haven't seen the film, so didn't recognise the music.

Didn't realise that about Zelenjak and Nekrasova.

Ah, I forgot about that programme of Krasnozhon's. I remember now being surprised when I first saw it. But then being impressed with the skating.

Even though his jumps pretty much all failed him, this Belarusian boy really has a lot of talent. He's just 13...get him to a good jump coach and I think he will have a bright future :)

Some of these programs are so painful to watch that they just seem to go on for hours. :hopelessness:

Is it just me, or is it scary how much Adrien looks like the Michael Jackson of the 80's?

Given this, I probably wouldn't have put "ABC" in at the end. Wrong era.

And ditch the moonwalk at the start. It doesn't work on ice.

Otherwise, enjoyable to watch.
