Oh, Yakau! It was going so well, and then it fell apart towards the end of "Gopher Mambo". He landed badly on a jump, and you could see he hurt himself and couldn't do the next few elements properly.

But, he managed to pull everything back together during "Mambo Number 5".

If you take those 20 seconds or so away, it looked pretty promising.

But I HATED the costume!

Koshiro's turn. Interesting costume influenced perhaps by Star Wars?

Can't beat a bit of Muse!

Wasn't sure about Natran's costume at first. But when he was doing the spins, it really added to the effect.

He looks disappointed with his results. But, it wasn't a bad skate. Let's face it, it could have been a lot worse!

Daniel Grassl has yet stable jump landings, but what a showman he already is.

I've felt he definitely gets influenced by Plushenko.

Shimada was another one that looked disappointed with his results. Don't know why. If I was 5th with just 2 to go, I would be delighted!

When Grassl came out, I would never have guessed that was what he was going to skate to. From his costume, I thought "Pirates Of The Caribbean"!

Very good skate.

And now for the final skater. One of the guys I am expecting to do well.

Kotlarik was good. Should be a LOT higher than 14[SUP]th[/SUP]!

I thought Top 5!

Mind you, I wasn't sure about that bit when the music speeded up for about 5 or 10 seconds during the first song. Apart from the fact that the song doesn't speed up in real life, the skating stayed the same speed as it was before and after.

Right, bed time. I am totally wrecked! :bed:

(Got up extra early to do my predictions and get my breakfast before the snooker came on at half 8. Then discovered that the televised stages of the snooker doesn't start until tomorrow! :rolleye: )

Orzel has improved a lot over the past few years (skating skills, spins) but there's still a lot of room for more improvement.
Glad to see a good outing for his 1st JPG.

Keep an eye out on FS! He's got a quad in his arsenal!

A found the guys mostly underwhelming - not very ambitious: only 6 3A attempts, no quads at all which was maybe a little curious? The the top three girls would have beat the all the guys easily if they would get 100% components scores  But some promising acts nevertheless, particularly Skirda and Grassl. I hope that the FS will be better.

Well, quads aren't allowed in junior SPs, so that's probably the reason they didn't attempt any.

 Ok, thought vaguely about it but did not check. Lesson learned! And thanks for correcting me! Still, a little underwhelmed with the technical quality, though.

Yeah, they weren't the greatest, that's for sure! I wonder if it's because it's still so early in the season?
