Some nice moments in that skate from Andrew. He has a lovely movement quality. I wish he had the tech content. He reminded me a bit of Jason Brown today...

Clean 3Lz to start, forward landing on the 3F+2T+2Lo (maybe hands down on 3F). Good speed on the camel spin. A bit hunched over through the footwork sequence. Two-footed on the second 3F. Fall on the second 3Lz, hand-down on the 2A. Nice spread-eagle transition though. Popped 2S, but a better 2A. Alright pair of spins to end the program, last spin is a bit uncentered though. I'm going to guess that a few of his jumps were <.

I like his sensitivity with the music and he has some nice moves in the field throughout the program. Several hiccups on the jumps, just seemed to be over on the right side often on the landing.

Fall on the 4S, looked <. Popped 1Lz+2T with two-foot landing. Fall on the 3F as well. Better centering on the combo spin. Not sure on the hop with the second spin, very sloppy on the levels. Almost a slip on transition jump. Another fall on the 3Lz (heavy flutz to me). Popped 1F. Popped 1Lo. Alright combo sit spin, footwork. Popped 1A.

I bet that we're going to see quite a few pops tonight with the altitude.

Gonna try something new, maybe better, maybe not.

4T - Step-out, looks rotated, slow going into it
3Lo - Step-out, looks <
2A+2T
1T+1T+SEQ - Popped
Spin - positions not held long
Footwork - quite labored and slow
3S - Fall
2A
2Lz+2T
Spin - Slow
Combo Spin - Slow

Overall, just quite slow going into jumps. I would say that the spins and footwork are around Level 1, maybe 2.

Jordan Dodds (AUS)

3Lo - Step-out
1Lz - Pop
2S - Pop
Flying Combo Sit Spin - Alright
2A - Secure
Footwork - Simple steps, a bit slow
Spin - Nice change to the forward edge
3T+1Eu+1S - Hand-down
3T+2T - Rough Landing
2A - Okay
Choreo - A bit slow
Spin - Lost the last part of it, but found his center again

EEERRRR... are they going to announce Jordan's scores? Warm-up group already on the ice, lol.

2A - Perhaps pop?, good height if not
3Lz+3T - 3T maybe <
3F+1Eu+2S - A little rough
Spin - Nice running camel entry, a tad slow
3Lo+2T - Fine
2Lo - Popped
Choreo Step - A bit slow
3Lz - Flip-out
3S - Double-footed, < likely
Footwork - Could fill the circle more, edges a bit shallow
Spin - Nice butterfly, fair speed
Spin - Nice half-sit tuck position, each position held well

Good effort from Tang here. A few pops but a good fight on the spins. Looks exhausted near the boards.

Hiroaki Sato (JPN)

4T+2T(arms aloft) - Knee saved him, good landing
3A - Turn-out
2Lz - Pop
Flying Spin - Good speed and positions
Footwork - Strong, bold steps
2A - Popped, almost a delayed 2A because of it
Spin - Good twisted sit positions
3Lz - Flip-out
3F - Good landing
Choreo Step - Good
1S - Pop
Spin - Good A-frame, change of foot camel, and crossfoot spin to end

Despite the pops, Sato is able to carry the rather bold, bombastic movement. Definitely a step up from what we've seen so far in this event. A strong recovery from the short program. There was a lack of combinations, however.

3Lz+3T - Clean, 3T could be < but I don't think so
Change Foot Camel Spin - Good speed and positions
2A - Rough landing
3F - Alright
3Lo + 2T - Decent
Spin - Fair speed
3Lz - Flip-out
2A+1Eu+3S - Crumbled near end
Footwork - Nice twizzles with both arms above the head, could have more speed and emphasis
3Lo - Step-out
Choreo - Nice line in spread eagle
Spin - Cool hydroblade into the combo spin

Good effort on the technical merit. Some of the jumps looked labored but they were done mostly fine. Alright expression in interpreting the Notre Dame de Paris music.

That was actually a really fantastic program for Vincent, I like it. And love that tunic.

That said however I counted 5 URs including both quads and triple Axels so clearly that problem hasn't gone away.

4Lz - Hand-down, maybe <
4S - Could be <
3A+2T - Good flow-out
Flying Spin - Fairly good centering, actually
Choreo - Good breath to the music
3A - step-out, could be <
3Lz+3T - Great!
3F - Solid
Flying Spin - Good speed, seems Level 3
3Lz+1Eu+3S - Fall on end, but two arms aloft on the first 3Lz
Footwork - Fairly simple
Spin - Decent, strong flourish to the end

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets dinged several times, but it's great to see the 4S attempt. I bet that he's going to add in the 4F again sometime later.

This Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon music suits him better than last year's program. It emphasizes the technical merit and the choreography does highlight the both the spirited and softer sides of the music choice. The more commitment he will have, the more intense his highs, the better.
