My takeaway~

Judges hate Kao's spins, particularly his CSSp~totally justified, his spins are ugly
But the judges (actually, tech panel) also hate on Shun's jumps...that I don't get
His jumps were immediately up for review...but why?
Mura (Jr) looked seriously upset when Shun's score was announced

Oh, and why is Kazuki Tomono's PCS starting drop again?

Not only that, but last season he was also getting better scores for his non-jumping elements. This season (even at Nebelhorn where he was mostly clean), his protocols are full +1 and +2s, despite the fact his skating and elements are now more polished than ever.

It's almost like last season they needed him as a spots saviour and crowd pleaser at Worlds in Saitama, but now he is not needed anymore as Yuma is back and the Olympics is closer and they clearly want to focus on the younger guys 🙃

@tsuyoboogie I don`t understand Shun`s judging either. It seems they don`t want him at worlds
A LOT of Japanese fans are very upset with both Kao's CSSp (shown as Level 3 during broadcast) being invalid...again :palmf: and the edge call on Shun's 4F
They are saying the team is predetermined and the federation doesn't want to send either Kao or Shun to Worlds (I feel they treat Shun more harshly than Kao)
I'm not sure if this is the way the judges/federation is choosing to send both of them "messages" of what they need to change or improve on (this is how they treat Novice and Junior skaters)
However, Kao is saying he's been practicing really hard to sit low into the spin and Noriko-sensei said he did fine
Shun said he's never been called on the Flip edge before so was very surprised they decided to do it at this competition
Shun is such a sweet, cool-headed and mature boy that he just accepted it without too much protest
Fiery Kao on the other hand said he had to stop talking before he said something that would get him in trouble 😅

You're probably right...but not Shun, because they seem to treat him even worse than Kazuki 😠
It's so sad because I thought we were finally past the point of Kazuki being held back in PCS
He's so appreciated and adored by fans worldwide for his ability to perform and entertain but receiving 7s and low 8s for PR :rolleye:
And like you said, it's not as if he's popping or falling all over the ice, this is for skates where he jumps decently well

BTW, I hope everything is good with you 😊
