It is a great opportunity for them, but La/Le already medaled at Nationals last year. It would be a first (at the Senior level) for Nadia and Peter. Or anyone else, I believe.

Can someone explain what happened with Nik Wansteeker’s military service? Kaitlyn said he did his basic training and then decided he’d rather skate. That’s—not how it works, at least in the US. You enlist, and then there’s a term of service, you don’t just get to say, no, never mind.

They resurfaced the ice after the first group, so no worries there.
