She is talking about things that impressed her this season, and she said that there weren’t any big news (this interview was done before Alina’s announcement). “The only thing that was funny is the award ceremony at IdF, where they gave Aliona’s gold medal to Mariah Bell. In general, I was surprised by her 3A. I thought she’d be scared (to do it). But she did it in both short and free - and she did them pretty well. I never saw a 3A this good from any boy. It’s a perfect jump. I think she can add another rotation to it.

During the landing she “drifts”. It means that her shoulders are over rotating. Sasha Trusova had this on her 4S during Japan Open - her leg kept going further, but she stopped herself and started the “drift”.”

The last part I believe is Serafima praising Aliona and Sasha for over rotating their jumps.

Thank you very much nussacker! :thank:
Very nice praise from Sima. :luv17: But I wonder why she thought Aliona would be afraid to do the 3A...? I can't remember if they were training with Team Tutberidze at the same time--if so, maybe Sima saw her struggling with it in practice...?

**

Separately, I think we *might* be getting way ahead of ourselves with this talk about Aliona being injured and maybe missing Nationals! She was seen in the Japanese video with Alina a day or two ago, and she was in that dance video yesterday, so maybe she's fine...? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

No, I don’t think they ever trained together, Sima left before Aliona came.
I think it’s probably coming from the fact that this is a new jump for Aliona, so Sima thinks it could be scary/nerve wracking to go for a new jump?

Yeah, and Sima actually said that although Eteri has a reputation of a somewhat careless coach now, Sima completely disagrees with it, as from her experience Eteri was always very careful with the health of her students. So if there’s something with Aliona, it’s probably something minor, and if not, they’ll probably give her the care that she needs.

Careful, I have no doubts they are. But, unless there is an extreme emergency, I doubt they would go farther than counseling. And eve a strong advice, backed by doctors, may not deter a very determined skater. :-/

But I really hope this complain she had at GPF was nothing very serious, and she is well now.

This is from Sima's interview, which I shared on the previous page:
https://sport24.ru/news/other/2019-...evoy-khanyu-chetvernom---foto-video-instagram

GoogleTranslate:
When I skated with Eteri Georgievna, I asked to teach me four things. She told me that it was dangerous and that it was better to take care of yourself. She has such fame that she does not protect her athletes, but this is not so. She cherished us very much and didn’t want us to go fours. She was also afraid that the triple would go wrong.

So Sima is basically saying that other people say that Eteri "doesn't protect her athletes," but Sima completely disagrees.

One more thing from me...This is a bit old now, but I really like the articles from Match TV written by Anastasia Panina (at least based on what I read via GoogleTranslate). I said this before, but she really seems to know her stuff! I haven't noticed any factual errors in her articles (I often find them in other articles), and it seems like she has actually been following the ladies closely. And of course, she has nice things to say about our girl.

Here are her articles on GPF:

Thanks for the links. I believe Panina is also a commentator for MatchTV when they cover figure skating events. I like her as commentator.
