That's very interesting indeed! I hope that it will work out well for Angela. I have always liked her and thought that she was a 'full package' skater, but she never seemed to be able to put it together. Hopefully Ravi will bring the best out of Angela!

Angela Wang was my outside pick to make the Olympic team, but she wasn't able to fight through the nerves. She has a smooth glide, good sense of the music, and powerful jumps when she's on. Her triple loop with both hands aloft is stunning. I think she has what it takes to be a leading American lady under Ravi.

I thought Ravi Walia was retired from coaching, since he also works as a technical specialist (he was few months ago at JGP Bratislava).

This whole judge and coach at the same time is a bit weird but good for Angela, she probably picked the best coach for ladies right now in North America.

best news to hear!!! So glad Angela didn't call it a end after last season, just so much untapped potential

This could be a good change. Angela desperately needs to find consistency, and Ravi did a great job of helping Kaetlyn peak at big events. I don't see Angela ever skating with the fire that we see from people like Evgenia or Wakaba, but simply being able to put together two clean programs would probably good enough to get her on a Nationals podium.

Ravi has been a technical specialist for years now. Likely not a great career move to retire when you are still the coach of the current Ladies World Champion and the No. 1 ranked woman in the World, according to ISU standings.

Not sure where certain members get their info, but perhaps some need to do the research in advance of making assumptions. ;) Make hay while the sun shines I would say, and best of luck also to Angela!

Great news. Angela has everything to be successful except consistency, so moving to the Canadian coach who has led his star pupil known for her wild consistency become medalists in major events can be a smart decision for Angela. Besides, Osmond is taking a long break from competition, so Ravi can focuses on teaching the new pupil.

By the way, Mr. Walia is a relatively young coach, so I don't think he will retire from coaching any time soon. Who knows? His next star student in the near future can be Angela. :)

Ravi has coached Kaetlyn and Patrick so he has the experience and Angela hopefully has the desire. This is probably a good move as in absence of kaetlyn Angela will be the focus

Although Kaetlyn is a great great great skater she certainly is not known for her consistency. I have yet to see a long program from her with all positive GOE across the board. I would call her worlds and Oly performances clean, yes, but she did have a small mistake. I would say Ravi can help Angela make her a more consistent short program skater and give her more speed and quality across her elements and it is a good change.

Actually, it sounds like Ravi is building a small group of Senior ladies in Edmonton.

Aurora Cotop has also just moved from the Toronto area to Edmonton to train with Ravi Wallia.

While she has been assigned one JGP, Aurora's now a Canadian National Team member so we expect her to move to Seniors later this season. She was 5th at senior nationals in January.

I'm hoping that Angela, Aurora and Kaetlyn (who's been in Edmonton working up new and interesting combo jumps), will become friends as training mates. We've seen at TCC how a supportive and positive environment can help all the skaters raise their level.

To be fair, Kaetlyn is at least as consistent as any senior skater not named Evgenia. What is most important is that she was able to bring her best form at the biggest events the last two seasons, which is really what every skater is hoping to do.
