Kind of surprised to see Loena Hendrickx competing in the JGP...?

Seems she didn't enter any Junior competitions at all last season?

And she had good results last season as a senior - in five "Senior B" and Challenger events, Europeans, and ultimately 15th at senior World's...?

But whatever - very interested to see her SP to Madonna's "Frozen"...!

Loena Hendrickx is not in top24 of World Standing and 46th of Season Best, so too low chance to GP. Probably she prefers two JGP Events because of this.

Great to see both Tarakanova and Gubanova on the list!!

9 Russian girls including substitutes.
All eligible of National Team except:
Scherbakova (injury, broken leg),
Konstantinova and Fedichkina - they are eligible to GP and probably one of them is planned to get spot at Cup of Russia. Selection (who is this one) may be made later.

Which country gave up a spot so the US could have two? Not complaining, though! :)

So far none of the Russian boys I want to see have been given a spot. But maybe they will change some assignments after the test skates.

I am interested to see how Moa Iwano performs in her junior debut...

If I understand correctly, she intends to include quad Salchow this season.

She was already looking impressive a year ago, at Asian Open - in the Advanced Novice competition:

3F + 3L
3Lz
3L
...
2A + 3T
3F
3S

She has mentioned her practicing 4S in some interview,
but I do no think she can land one anytime soon.
She has a big issue of under-rotation due to lack of height of her jumps,
and because of that, she was beaten by two Koreans,
Young Yu & Yun Kyun Kam @Asian Open last year.
though I think her PCS was higher than Koreans.
Despite of the fact that most of Japanese girls of this age range tend to look immature,
she looks more mature and so does her presentation.
So if she has fixed her under rotation issue,
she might be able to compete to medal here.
And I do hope she will surprise us with her improvement, but I do not expect too much.

Among two Japanese, Yamashita is the one who can possibly beat Russians.
@Recent Local competition,
she made spectators wowing with her greatly improved performance.

The US gets two spots at all 7 JGPs this season.

They do not. Russia, Japan and Korea get two spots. If another country does not use their spots (in this case, China), then the US is first in line to get additional spots.

Based on the performance at World, the US gets to send 2 men to each of the 7 JGPs. Take a look at the announcement and Table A.

Also, this is taken from another thread in this forum - Junior World Championships/JGP Spots.

USA's extra ladies' spot here came from China. China earned 1 spot in each of 6 events, and were assigned the first 6 by ISU (so they cannot enter a ladies' entry at the last JGP in Italy). They are the only country to give up a spot that could be inherited. RUS/JPN/KOR/USA/GER/HKG/SWE/GBR All used their allotted spots

Other spot details:

In Men's, GBR didn't use their lone spot, but none of ISR/CAN/JPN appear to have sent a second man even though one of them could.

In Dance, JPN didn't send their allotted team, so FRA was able to take advantage and send a second entry!
