Congratulations on the best 3A at Minto Summer Skate (2.40 GOE) :clapper: And on the win over the boards (seriously, it's impressing how he managed to stay on feet after collisions with boards and even nicely finish his jumps). And on so impressive combination spin with a scent of Lambiel touch .
2nd place is worse than last year BUT his skating was much MUCH better. More than solid SP and fairly good FS with just one serious flaw on 4T (thou I'm concerned about his F, called twice). I love Conrad's smile after SP, at last he was really satisfied with his performance. Hope to see him smiling at every competitions :luv17: (I prefer smiling over the happening titled "a bit frustrated skater and a bottle" however it was fresh and edgy )
I like his new costumes, especially the SP's: simple and sophisticated at the same time He is so eye-catching Romeo that I can see a line of Julias fighting for his attention :cool14:
Summing up, VERY promising performances .
------------- EDIT ------------------
Let me leave this links for the Minto Summer Skate (junior men) here as there is still no Conrad's SP on youtube:
I've noticed that Conrad's ISU bio was updated yesterday ( http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00055043.htm ), and he's now officially part of the 6-feet club (183 cm) along with Nic and Roman.
The GTSA Summer Skate archived livestream for the Junior Men SP is only 380p, and the 2nd group looks "squished" because the 16:9 aspect ratio has been "squeezed" into 4:3. :disapp: I'm certain that you guys would prefer my 540p screen recording of the 720p livestream of Conrad's SP: https://vimeo.com/285568107
I don't like Shawn Mendes, despite that, I really enjoyed Conrad's SP, liked a lot of the choreography. Best wishes tomorrow in the FS and I hope he holds onto his leader position!
Bravo Conrad! I want to say that I see improvement compared to last season. His upper body movement doesn’t look as stiff and awkward as before. He also performs better. Now fingers crossed for successful FS! He has chance for his first JGP gold!
Usually Conrad is better in FS than in SP... not today. After brilliant SP - ambitous and technically demanding FS wasn't as good. Anyway he still has a chance for JGPF. Hope we'll see him as happy as yesterday after Ljubljana event
I expect Conrad will very disappointed, since he'd have woken up today with very plausible hopes of winning the competition. While it would be great to just start winning everything, he's still showed major improvement, and I hope he doesn't get too down about the disappointing free skate when the short was such a success.
How determined he was today! I don't remember him so focused in FS since Baltic Cup last year. Great job, PB in FS and overall. And quite nice components.
Now it's time for polishing jumps and working on StSq... and spins, to avoid mistakes in future. JWC spot is still available.
Since we probably won't get any news for a while, I thought I'd share CBC's coverage of Conrad's 2018 Junior Worlds LP (which doesn't seem to be available on YouTube), in case some of you who live outside of Canada were interested in hearing the commentary: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6viioq
It's not in HD, but it's better than nothing. His SP wasn't broadcast on Canadian television.
Hope to see Conrad at one of the challenger series event soon. Camden goes to Innsbruck in November, but maybe Golden Spin is a better idea for Conrad... Time to gain senior TES.
