I don't know whether this is the right place to post this or that it should be put someplace else but I do think the Italian Grand Prix needs a competition thread. It's not totally national but the foreign skaters are trained there as far as I can see.

First competition was the weekend of the 24th/25th of October 2020. The Final will be held 12/13th of February 2021

Gone with the Wind has kindly posted all the links to the streams of the 4 stages of the competition elsewhere, and I have copied this information below.

First write up:
I shouldn't have started watching the ladies SP straight after my watch of the ladies at Skate America (on replay) as the level of skating was a lot higher there. It's a bit unfair towards these ladies who obviously were also doing their best.

Chenny Paolucci definitely needs some more practice, but at least she is competing which is quite something this year. Nice to see someone from Lithuania, a young lady called Greta Morkite. Greta and Francesca Poletti had a very comparable skate - and the judges thought so too. Kristen Spours from the UK can be quite satisfied even if her jumps weren't picture perfect. I remember Elisabetta Leccardi from the World Team Trophy in 2019 where she looked very promising, and she still does. However, I think her Axel was only a single (but I could have got this wrong). The rest looked pretty good. Number 1 after the SP is Ginevra Lavinia Negrello and she was the best here. But only 56 points for a leader is rather a low score.

I've never seen Alberto before (or perhaps I have but just don't remember).

I remember seeing Philip at the Challenge Cup earlier this year. He's got moves. Well, except for the first jump. I like his characterisation on the ice though.

@ladyjane if you're not familiar with mattia i can tell you you'll enjoy him a lot. he's a beautiful skater, sadly not the best jumper out there...or the second best...
