I know this is a fan thread but reading your post one would get an impression that they skated clean (except of the fall on the triple Lutz throw) and that they were not adequately rewarded considering what they have presented on the ice. If we have just a tiny bit of reality, in addition to the fall on the throw lutz, they also doubled the solo toe loop jump and doubled the loop throw, and their death spiral was only level two. Their triple twist was also only level 1. And their jump combination 3S-oiler-2S is not very senior-ish either. Many juniors now do triple-oiler-triple. What they have done, that’s a pretty simple content, not really competitive even in juniors. I think considering their technical content, they were pretty lucky that they were marked as high as they were.Nebelhorn Trophy Senior Pairs FS: Results; Protocols

Liza and Martin finished 8th out of 12 in the FS, with a score of 97.65. This meant that they climbed to 8th place overall, with a score of 147.32.
Firstly, I want to apologise that this is being posted long after the competition was held. I was not able to watch the Pairs FS Live, and only got back to watch it on Monday afternoon. However, I haven't had a chance until now to write the report.
I really enjoyed this programme. And after watching the segment, I was baffled as to why they were not higher in terms of both position and score. Because I thought they did better than some of the partnerships that finished ahead of them in the FS.
So, perhaps the Protocols will explain it.
The first two elements, the Triple Twist and the Double Toe, looked perfectly fine to me. But, they both got minus GOE, and most of the marks from the Judges were minus too. (The Double Toe got a couple of +1's). Judge 7 even gave them -4 for the Twist, but she was consistently marking lower than the other Judges.
I did spot a problem with the third element, though. When they were doing their Triple Salchow-Half Loop-Double Salchow combination, Martin did not turn as many times as Liza. In fact, to me, it looked like he missed the Half Loop completely, only doing the Salchows. And although she did the Half Loop, it did not look at all pretty. The protocols say that the Triple Salchow was landed on the quarter, so I assume that was refering to Liza, and that that is why the next part of the combination looked awkward for her. Judge 3 gave them 0, but everything else was negative.
The next element, the Group 5 Step In Lasso Lift, looked really good. Apart from the 0 from Judge 2, everything was positive. However, Liza didn't land the Triple Lutz Throw, and fell. Unsurprisingly, this was the costliest element, getting -2.65 in GOE and -5's from all the Judges.
The Choreographic Sequence looked good and, apart from a 0 from Judge 1, everything was positive. It's hard to tell from the camera angle, but Liza may have had a two-footed landing on the Double Loop that followed. So, that might explain why, apart from a 0 from Judge 1, everything was negative.
The Reverse Lasso Lift was a real mixed bag from the Judges, with three +1's, one -1, two -2's, and a -4 from Judge 2. At first watch, it looked really good. But after re-watching it a couple of times, I noticed that Martin had a bit of difficulty at the start of lifting her up. And I am sure that the angles they were looking at it from would have meant that some Judges would have seen this, and some Judges would not. Hence the variety of marks.
The rest of the programme went well, with nearly everything positive. The only exceptions being a 0 from Judge 3 on the Group 3 Lift, and a -2 from Judge 4 on the Back Outside Death Spiral.
Liza and Martin finished the Free Skate 1.24 points behind 7th position, Anna VALESI / Manuel PIAZZA (ITA), and 3.68 points ahead of 9th position, Nika OSIPOVA / Dmitry EPSTEIN (NED). Overall, they finished 3.64 points behind 7th position, Valesi / Piazza, and 1.26 points ahead of 9th position, Osipova / Epstein.
All in all, I think Liza and Martin have two very good programmes this year. And that once they go clean, they will do very well.
Can't wait to see that happen!
WELL DONE!!!

Sad news. Liza has ended the partnership for family reasons. She said: "I am happy to represent the Czech Republic and I would like to express a big thank you for all the support I have always received. I don't want to say goodbye and it's possible that our paths will cross again."
