Yes, I think so too! Plus, he'll get some WS points which will hopefully keep him in the Top 24

He so deserves 2 GPs, please

I wanted to kinda strangle him when he went for that second 4S (I literally said here after Wednesday practice that if he didn't do it everything would be fine :dbana:) but my oh my what a performance, he was on fire during those steps.

At least it is only a pop...and yay for Kazuki that there was no falls (and only one pop as well as one missing combo) in SP and FS...
The works with Misha pay off in a certain extent (except the spins...:drama:)

I know, I was upset too. IMO he should have stuck with his original layout and tried to be as clean as possible, as he's obviously not ready yet for a 3-quad FS (needs to practice more during the off-season). But oh well, remember his friends said he's a bit hasty? He's also very stubborn and a bit crazy, like Shoma - no wonder those two get on well :drama:

But, all things considered, he did well! I was afraid it would be a complete mess like Kokutai...

It's all part of the process! Misha said since last season they've been reworking all of Kazuki's basics and the result of this work is only starting to show. Today he was the second in overall steps (SqSt + ChSq), ahead of Yuzuru and only behind Jason! https://twitter.com/bigfanofskating/status/1226405482396450817
That's incredible, especially considering that last season he was mostly getting only Level2 StSq with Riverdance.

Congrats Kazuki!!!!!

It’s a pity he’s not sixth by such a low margin but it doesn’t change a lot from sixth to seventh... He also didn’t seem so happy at the K&C:( but at least it’s a new SB and he has more chances to get his GP spots!
From now it can only get better!

He would have more points to his world standings as 6th :sad4:

But you're right, it'll only get better from now on. We can see now very clearly that all the hard work he's been doing with Misha is starting to pay off. I simply cannot wait to see his development next season

Wait a moment, Kazuki was not invited to the gala. I’m mad.

I was frustrated and disappointed too (I had been excited to see Freaks :(), but it would've been too many Japanese men as two of our men had to decline the gala due to injuries :( :( The medalists were two Japanese men and a US man, and the others were a Korean man (my darling Junhwan), a Chinese man (Jin Boyang), a Canadian man (Keegan Messing), and a Mexican man (Donovan). That's reasonably balanced, since the other disciplines were dominated by one or two countries (ladies Japan and Korea, pairs China, ID US) they had to keep the balance somewhere. Kazuki just became collateral... In all honesty I wouldn't have minded not seeing the men's bronze medalist but well medals are medals

I am SO proud of Kazuki for his skates at 4CC! Thinking back to last year which ended in tears, Kazuki improved so much 😭 I’m proud of him for choosing to go for the challenge of the third quad in the second half. He knows he has to push his limits himself because JSF isn’t going to push anything for him.
The popped Sal was right in front of my seat and I’m not sure what was shown in the broadcasts/streams, but I could see his expression when he popped it. I thought it was more of an “oops” than “oh no” face so it seemed to me he wasn’t too hung up on it, which was good because he was able to continue to perform. His performance was superb and he really did lit up the atmosphere. The music was big but he rode on it instead of being overwhelmed, it was amazing!

I was also quite disappointed for him not to be in the gala as well :(

I'm so disappointed as well. I was so looking forward to watching the new 'Freaks'! Also, I don't understand why they couldn't invite three Japanese guys, since they had three Japanese ladies at the gala! Anyway, no offence to anyone but Kazuki is a king at the galas so it's 10000% their loss :sarcasm:

Absolutely, the progress he showed compared to last year was amazing - physically, technically and mentally as well, he's so much more mature! I can't wait to see him growing further :luv17:

For those who have missed it, here's his 4CC free skate in good quality: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rnbcx
I understand that Daily Motion is blocked in certain countries, so here's the performance (in lower quality) on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/figureskate_bot/status/1226373963946713088
https://twitter.com/figureskate_bot/status/1226374580073164801

Here's his free skate protocol: https://twitter.com/hookedonskating/status/1226395457330434048
Again he lost level on spins and got an edge call on the lutz, in addition to the pop, a couple of rough landings, and missing one combo. Although that's a shame, that means that he's got the potential to score even higher!

His SB is now in 15th! :yahoo: http://www.isuresults.com/isujsstat/sb2019-20/sbtsmto.htm
Although we can expect some of the guys to improve their SB at Worlds and Junior Worlds and surpass him, I think he will be able to remain in the Top 24 comfortably, getting one guaranteed spot next season
He's still 19th in World Standings, but he will have the opportunity to earn some more points at Coupe des Printemps: http://www.isuresults.com/ws/ws/wsmen.htm

In addition, did you guys see his funny shenanigans in the green room during the free skate?
First with Camden: https://twitter.com/takeyo55098794/status/1226384095204130817 (note his skating guards match the Moulin Rouge costume!)
Then with Nam and Tomoki: https://twitter.com/yp1_ydct/status/1226382651109433344
With Nam and Keegan: https://twitter.com/beth_gifs/status/1226384218684612608

Finally, he posted a couple of cute stories with Yuma at the banquet! https://twitter.com/FSIgstories/status/1226529897276940288 :luv17:

Overall, I'm so happy that it seems that 4CC ended up being an overall good experience for him. Onwards and upwards, Kazuki! :agree:

Great that you could see Kazuki live, Ichatdelune! It must be a special experience ^ ^ He skated much bigger than he is, didn't he? He got so much applause after the SP, it was heartwarming (I haven't seen the free programs yet). I hope to see my first Kazuki performance next month  (how about you, Giu? Kirara?)
He's got new Freaks? I didn't know?! Please tell me more.

A bit late but congrats to our boy, he did really well :hap10:

While both performances weren't perfect with a lot to work on but I am still so happy and proud of him and hopefully, that will boost his confidence as he goes to his next competition while still push him to work on what needs to be fixed.

I was also sad we didn't see Freaks with the new changes but hopefully, we can have that on another occasion

BTW, Those green room videos are just a treasure :love:

So cute! :luv17:

Yes, it seems that at PIW in mid-January he performed 'Freaks' with a new, improved choreo! I was really looking forward to seeing it at the 4CC gala, but alas... :sad21:

Speaking of 'Freaks', check out this cool compilation of fan arts!

I should be there. I hope to be there from Thursday to Monday, but I haven't started any preparations yet. Btw I don't have any ideas for presents for Kazuki (no ramen stuff here in central Europe, alas) - help? I am thinking some souvenir candy as usual, eventhough I know skaters are probably not allowed to eat anything some random fan buys them.
I really look forward to hopefully meeting you guys! And seeing Kazuki live for the first time. And Freaks! It's so cool.

I'm still waiting for ticket and schedule info to make a decision! I'll let you guys know via PM :luv17:

Check this out, someone did an annotated video of Moulin Rouge's StSq with all the difficult turns and steps! Kazuki (and Misha) did such a great job

Did you guys see Kazuki's IG updates yesterday?
He posted a bunch of pics from the Doshisha training camp: https://www.instagram.com/p/B8gXXxWHdjN/
Also, this hilarious IG story: https://twitter.com/KiraraChin/status/1227926350373249024

Someone translated this funny chat between Kazuki, Yuzu and Yuma: https://twitter.com/echotpe/status/1227866203336478721

There's also some talk Kazuki will be competing at another domestic event this weekend! Does this boy ever rest... :drama:

So, it's been confirmed Kazuki is participating in the Kansai Student Figure Skating Competition! It's a FS-only competition, here's the schedule and starting order: https://twitter.com/Tomono_Infonet/status/1228311899088932866
In addition to Kazuki, Mitsuki Sumoto, Taichi Honda and Junya Watanabe will be participating, too.

Did you guys see his IG stories yesterday? https://twitter.com/takeyo55098794/status/1228470875642417152
He was with his training mates who are retiring. I've never realised he trained with so many girls! I bet he got a lot go Valentine's chocolates yesterday :laugh2: (in Japan, girls give Valentine's chocolate to the boys not only out of love, but friendship too).
I also laughed when someone commented on Twitter he is the cutest even among the pretty girls

Before I forget, some more 4CC pics
