Her jumps are lovely, but she does need to find a sweet spot between delaying and landing not-UR'd.

That is exactly what I was thinking about. I am so sad, In my opinion Polina is much more passionated during her performances than Sotskova. She has bigger jumps no UR's problem and a very special way to interpret the music. She is a new king of talent she just catch my attention during the entire program. So sad to not seeing her at euro and probably at Olympics too. The level of the ladies in russia is just so big, it's sad to think about all of those beautiful talents who will not have the chance to go to olympics while in another country they would be at the center of the whole attention. I am also thinking about Gubanova which is a little ballerina on ice and always offers hypnotic performances.
I really hope that Polina will not give up after her result at nationals, It was really unfair in my opinion to see her behind konstantinova, and of course it was also unfair to see Sotskova big scores while she has made a couple of mistakes.

Polina, Wakaba, Gracie, Anna P...none of my favorite skaters with huge jumps and great SS can't go to Olympics. Sad...Consistency matters most these days.

I think delivering when it matters is most important these days, rather than consistency...

Anna couldn't compete due to her injuries this season, but was pretty consistent last season scoring over 210 in nearly every competition... Wakaba was more consistent than Kaori this season, scoring over 200 in every competition... Sergei Voronov and others too... Polina herself has consistently scored very highly in her few competitions this season...

...but it seems none of it counts for anything, if they don't deliver at the competition that really matters...! :-/ Simply can't afford any mistakes... the world of Figure Skating is cruel and harsh, and ruthlessly competitive...

I hope not.
I prefer to see her going at the Cup of Russia Final in February.
I'm not that sure that she is feeling comfortable with the idea of going at JWC.
She said in the interviews that she is a senior now.
No matter which decision she will make (I'm sure that she is the main factor who will chose to go or not at JWC because she is a girl with character) I'll support her,like always. :love:

After watching Russian Nationals, I didn't wanted to heard anything about figure skating anymore.
It was like a Christmas without a miracle.
But,after I thought more,I decided to post again some things,like I usually do,not discussions in general,links with photos,videos and interviews with Polina,because she is the main reason for which I came here.
When I found this treat for the 1st time,I loved the way that people are interested and share with others links with informations about her.
I'm not interested to watch Europeans,even I'm from Europe and I live kinda close from Russia.
But I'll always watch with joy Polina skate :love:

I have to say her SP at nationals was probably the best among all. I rewatched it few times already, and the ending was... perfect, just perfect..

It's sad to watch some performances at the European Championship and not to see Polina there.. I wish Russia could get more spots, at least they could grant the start for the previous year champion + 3 spots for the country..

Polina CAN get better score than Masha,and not than only her.
I agree with you,she needs more competition.
But,let's think a little bit:she started to practice her FS in September.The other girls had at least 3 months more than her to prepare their programs.At NHK,she showed the great potential of her FS.140 points wasn't the right score.She deserved more 6-7 points.At Russian Nationals,she was the best in SP,but,again,she didn't received the scores she deserved.She needed more internationals competitions untill Grand Prix,that the judjes can see her.I never understood why mr. Kogan didn't let the athletes who didn't participated at test scating to go at internationals competitions,like Golden spin,for exemple.Polina didn't participated at test scating because she wasn't recovered,not because she didn't wanted.
I believe in her and in her skilles.She has the most amazing jumps from all the ladies.I know,jumps aren't everything,she must to work more at transitions,too.I love the fact that she doesn't need tanos or rippons in her jumps or all the jumps in the second half of the program.She said in interviews,older ones and after the Russian Nationals that is very importand for her to feel that the coach is supporting her.I would love to see that more.I really apreciated how supportive was this half season Daniil Markovich and Sergey Alexandrovich with her at Russian Nationals and Sochi.
About her FS I would like to add something more-she has a natural grace in movement that helps her in lyrics programs.Also,she lives this FS,especially the ending part,when the melody is Song for the little sparrow.She feels it.She puts emotion in her skating.
I believe that,for this period of her life,the songs for FS are just right,how February was last year.
Ábout the scorring part,all she needs is more confidence in helself.
I agree with you,Polina is better than Masha at international competitions.
I would have love to see Polina at Olympics,but...it's not a perfect system and the world of figure skating is cruel when you make a mistake...So,for me,no Olympics this year,to...
I'll wait to see her at Cup of Russia and I'll support her,like I did since I found her.
She's so precious and special!I would like that many people realize that.
I don't want to argue with anybody,I don't know how Russian fans see her snd her FS,but in Romania,my country,and in other ones where I have friends,everybody( ha ha or almost everybody,because will never be 100%) likes her FS,not just like fans,but also like people who know about figure skating. :love:

I don't think that more spots are the problem....Russia deserves at least 1 more spot for the girls because they are the best,but I think that,first of all,they need to change the attitude-the Russian Nationals isn't the most important competition in the world....There are so many other things to think about...but,oh well....
I'm sad,too,because of that-Europeans without Polina.
