Good luck to Nastya Gubanova.

I thought I saw Mishin! Buuut it might just be an old dude in a hat :laugh2:

Sofia Sam is almost ready to begin though, you go girl!

ETA: It's Mishin! He must be standing on a box though cause he looks really tall.

Hooray!!! Sofia finally got 200 points total after all this time! I'm so happy for her!

Now what can Nastya Gubanova bring? :)

Lovely program from Nastya Gubanova, her costume is very elegant.

I'm not sure because I don't know how to score, but she might win since her TES is higher than Sofia's and I think her spins were better.

Edit: Oh wait no! Poor Nastya got hit by underrotations (some of her jumps looked scratchy) and she finished in 2nd! 😳

Hooray for Sofia Sam though! I'm happy she had a good skate before Nationals.

Looking at the top five ladies points at Cup of Russia, Gubanova would have placed at least top 5 so still dont get why on earth she was not invited.

It's a shame we don't get to see more of Gubanova. I really wish she was in more competitions.

Short interviews from St. Petersburg Championships:
Anastasia Gubanova (English and Russian) - she lost a lot of time as she was sitting on quarantine and therefore had no chance to compete at the Russian Cup series to qualify for Nationals
Sofia Samodurova (English and Russian) - hit a low after Rostelecom Cup, but is now feeling more confident again
Evgeni Semenenko (longer interview, so far only in Russian) - landed three quads for the first time in competition 4Lo, 4S, 4T
