Just read that he jumped a 3A in the finale today at PIW. I'm happy he's still going for all kinds of jumps, except the quad.

ETA: And here it is.
I wonder if he'll do any more ice shows this year. Tomorrow's PIW might be the last 2 times he'll perform his beautiful program, at least for this year.

The Japanese Men skaters for Japan Open haven’t yet announced. But considering Mura and Kozuka of last year and Mao and Satoko of this year, the possibility that competitive skater will show up might be higher....

It's a shame they ran out of time to show us his 3A
But still thankful that they showed us anything at all.

I don't know about the morning show, but for the final PIW show for this year, Machida's "The Inheritor" was perfect according to reports. A nice way to wrap up the ice show season for him.
He was apparently crying during the "fureai time" during the 2nd show … I hope they weren't sad tears.

On a happier note (for me), this is an illustration of how he looked when he realized he forgot to do the rounds after the finale of the 1st show

I am very grateful for this program because it's more than I wished for after his retirement. He has tremendous talent for choreography so I hope he continues to do more. His skating also continues to improve. Until next time, all the best to him. He will be missed.

I think so… I know well it was choice of on his own will and good for him, but every time I see his performance after retirement or hear someone admiring it, I miss him more and more..

Tatsuki has announced his participation at Carnival on Ice, the exhibition gala of Japan Open. He says that is where he will skate The Inheritor for the last time.
