Very difficult to detach from the marvelous men's Worlds competition we just saw.

1. Jason Brown, Melancholy

2. Jason Brown, The Impossible Dream

3. Kévin Aymoz, Gladiator

4. Junhwan Cha, Michael Jackson

5. Shoma Uno, Air on the G String

so many many others, but I will stop at 5. OK, maybe not:

juniors: Kirk Haugeto, In the Hall of the Mountain King.

Very difficult to just name 5 programs - there are some great music choices, some programs that just fit the skater so well, some boring music, but great choreography or execution...
Overall I didn't like this season too much in terms of programs. There was no program I could go to again and again. I'll try anyway, since I just like rating and ranking and awarding, just going by how much I want to see it again. No gala programs.

1 Kevin, Labrinth
2 Kevin, Gladiator
3 Lauriault/Le Gac, Pink Panther
4 Kondratiuk, What is Jazz
5 Sakamoto, Janet Jackson

I would also include Matteo's Maneskin, but since it's an old program I don't.

Most of my favourite programs are from ice dance... seems like there is more care in building great programs in that discipline...

Evita Piper and Paul
Laurence and Nik Morricone
Lajoie Lagha White Crow but I love their Cha cha too
Adam Siao Him Fa = FP
Shoma Uno Aria

Impossible to narrow it down to 5, not including gala programs:

Piper and Paul's Evita
F-B/S: FS, I call it the Kill Bill Program
Kaori's Elastic Heart
Adam's SP and FS - they belong together
Can't decide...Shoma's SP, Matteo's SP, Junhwan's free, everything Jason does, same for Keegan, mustn't forget Deniss...so many great ID programs

2) Kamila Valieva - Wednesday

3) Adelia Petrosyan - Free skate (a big fan of complex and mysterious music mixes)

4) Adelia Petrosyan - Voila

5) Veronica Yametova - Short Program (Royal Blood)

Alexei Yagudin? Where did he compete?
Yes, there was a gala competition in Russia a few weeks ago, which Yagudin won. I was very ready to dislike his skating, given how much I despise him in his interviews and commentary, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The concept of his program was pretty simple, but still quite touching, and beautifully performed. Along with Mark's Little Prince it was the best and most interesting program of the competition, imo.

Here's a link if you're curious !

Thanks for the link. He was my favorite skater for a long time until he wasn't. I have to say though - this is almost a carbon copy of many of the comedic programs that Kurt Browning did. Copycat!!!
