Hah... Shoma got 2.29 GOE for his 3A is still the biggest joke to me. And they only gave Han Yan's stellar 3A 2.57 GOE. I knew it. And Josh only got +2 for his great 3A.

JSF is smoking something so hot. :sarcasm:

I feel sorry for Adian Pitkeev and Petrov right now, who actually have much better 3A.

To be fair--Han usually gets 2.8-3.0s for his axel so maybe he was a bit off today?
But yes, Shoma's 3A is +1 at BEST when that free-leg is barely 4 inches off the ice.

Let the axel-gate begin.

I'm just happy the men's didn't disappoint.

I agree that Shoma's Goe's are too high for that axel...but the amount of times it is mentioned...you'd think that someone's medal would have been won or lost due to that.
The judges did not score it right. --Has he robbed anyone of a placement because of it?

Absurd GOEs. Shoma is a promising skater, but as of here and now in this competition? Han Yan should be way above the rest, with Josh in 2nd. (With regards to 3A scores.)

I told you, JSF is trying very very hard to sell him. In no way Shoma deserve higher GOE for 3A than Joshua. Then he's only like 0.3 point behind Han Yan in 3A? Just kill me but those judges should be ashamed.

The only difference probably is that Jason would have beat him in the FS (though not overall).

That said, there are other factors besides height. He does do some nice transitions into it, like the spread eagle and that one cool move he does coming out. I might have been a smige too high, but nothing worth crying over.

It seems that scores increase from year to year. Programs more difficult in the past years have taken lower scores.

LOL, The entire top 7 would have beat Kovtun for silver. Too bad for Dice-K, Shoma, Jason and Takahito that they were not at Euros.

Looks about right. I actually thought the Judges, both in GOES and PCS were pretty lenient/generous this competition. Then I remembered Euros. Yup it's fine.

I told you, JSF is trying very very hard to sell him. In no way Shoma deserve higher GOE for 3A than Joshua. Then he's onky like 0.3 point behind Han Yan in 3A? Just kill me but those judges should be ashamed.

He's the ISU's "chosen one" for his generation. Whether rightly or wrongly so, expect higher GOE/PCS when he turns senior next season.

In the FS, perhaps. But in the SP, the judges were definitely stingy on PCS. Only Denis Ten broke 40, while at Euros, two skaters broke that barrier (and Voronov came close).

If there will be the day they gave him higher GOE than Han Yan in 3A when both are okay... OGM just kill me.

So why are we fussing about the judging of the 5th place skater?

The judging is sort of strange. I feel like one guy/gal woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Besides giving just a +1 to Josh's 3A....I think that judge was the one that only gave Jason a +1 on his Camel spin (he got +2 and +3, and mostly +3, from everyone else).

To be fair... it would have explained Satoko's jump GOEs :p

Because this 5th will definitely be given huge favor in both GOE and PCS over other junior at WC. Adian and Petrov have little chances against that level of GOE.
But heck... I wish Adian and Petrov will show them the best 3A they have.

At 2013 Worlds, Patrick Chan's adequate 3A got more GOE than Yuzuru's great 3A from a counter entry. It's not right, but it happens.
I also seem to remember Yulia L's fans being up in arms when her jumps were being criticized because height isn't the only relevant criteria for +GOE. However, in Shoma's case it's suddenly the only thing that matters. :rolleye:

Looking ta the protocols: Josh and Yan even made the same mistakes. Smaller ones on their second and last jump - the 4T and 3S for both. Soul mates

Denis getting overall + GOE for his first 3A though...

I blame it on the soju! I also think the audience got free soju, cause clearly they were much more rowdy (in a good way) then the day before. :D
