MK: how do you fell to be a part of such a strong, competitive group? Does it motivate you or make you nervous?
AP: it gives you tonus and keeps you on your toes.

MK: given your looks, did you get modeling offers?
AP: no I haven’s unfortunately. Everything will come in time.
MK: maybe they’re just shy to approach you?
AP: no, I don’t think that’s the reason.

MK: you and Medvedeva represent “Sambo-70”, how much does it help/distract for the club to have so many different types of sports.
AP: its nice to be in a club with all these different sports, so yes, it helps.

EM: when you enter the ice, your goal is to unload both physically and emotionally to the maximum. You don’t think “oh, I have so many strong competitors, I’m expected to get gold”. You just think about executing your elements well and fully expressing yourself.

MK: are you thinking about 2018 OG or just the upcoming competition.
EM: I just prepare for the upcoming competition both physically and mentally.

MK: is a world podium spot guaranteed?
EM: nothing is guaranteed. Clean programs is what’s important.

EM: any competition motivates you for further labor and gives you additional stimulus to learn something new.

Sports.ru is a trash site but it has the most active info wall on the internet regarding FS. It's kinda like Wikipedia with a comment section. Basically, you dont read the actual stuff on Sports.ru but rather go to the LINK provided ( be it Icenetwork, sport-express, sovsport, etc.). Just like wiki.

And about the hate toward Zhenia, well let's see:

She pushed out "Motherland's Favorite" Lipnitskaia and made her cry and stuff.
She pushed out Sahanovich and made her fall into an abyss (from JGPF vice-champion to 2nd to last at Jr. Nats, ouch!)

Comment sections of any news site, as well as Youtube, etc. always attract the most disturbed people - be it about sports or any other topic. They're toxic. I agree that there is really no need to bring that stuff to Evgenia's fan thread. It's best not to give haters any attention if you can help it.

What's funny about this is that it is completely believable even if all you read is the golden skate forums. A big portion of the Radionova/Lipnitskaya fan base say the absolute most ridiculous things.

Though every now and then you see a staunch Radio/Lip/Mao/whoever fan snap back to reality for a second - "Subjectively, Elena is my girl. I love singing along to her tacky programs, I love her costuming, I love how much she can sell to the audience. I'm proud of her for gritting out those landings this season as her growth has obviously presented its challenges. Objectively, Evgenia has way more polish and deserves a few more PCS points than Elena due to her posture, choreography, and more nuanced attention to the music. But I'll probably keep my mouth shut about unfair PCS if Elena wins in an upset. (Which is what we all do with our faves, let's be honest.)"

Anyway I'd like to make it clear - Medvedeva becomes VERY POPULAR AND LOVED in Russia. We were talking about just a few crazy haters.

And if Evgenia manages to win not only in this but in next seasons most will forget Lipnitskaya, Radionova etc. Especially if Medvedeva wins Olympics.

A: Of course, it’s important that the programs and the image were pleasuring for the audience. In both the programs we try to transfer an image, to tell a story, to give all the best most emotionally.

A: Everybody take part in creation of images and suits: both trainers, and choreographers, and I. I think that the my own image didn't appear yet.

A: The relation of those people who surrounded me at the beginning of the way doesn't change. I remain the same Zhenya Medvedeva, and friends don't change the attitude towards me. Q: Zhenya, you somehow told that you take part in creation of the dresses.
A: It is the truth, coachers, choreographers and even parents participate in this process. So the new dress is always the collective decision with adults. By the way, initial sketches not always correspond to that turns out as a result. In operating time the mood changes and new ideas come.

A: I study in the ninth grade. This year I will hand over OGE (the main state exam for the 9th classes), I am engaged with tutors at home. A: I would have said not about the mistakes, but about Medvedeva shows very stable performances throughout the season. It is worth noting. It's some kind of special inspiration. And I have a little dream – after sports, after studying in Institute to learn the profession of makeup artist. But it is only plans that can be updated.

Q: You seem to like everything Japanese. How you treat your rival figure skaters from Japan?
A: On ice and off ice we, at least I are different people. On the ice we can go nowhere from the competition. But off the ice we are just ordinary people. We communicate in social networks. With Wakaba Higuchi we exchanged parcels with different gifts regularily. With Satoko Miahara we not so much talk. She is very modest. But always fit, congratulations, if necessary, support. About the love for all Japanese yes, I like the people, the food...

A: Yes, it's London. This is my dream for five years, I guess. I think that when I shall be 20 years old, I give everything up and instead of going to some tropical place, I make a visa, buy a ticket and go to London to learn English on Baker street. This is really my dream.

Q: After the Grand Prix final in Barcelona many skaters said that he would like to live in Barcelona for a while. Are there any city that able to impress you much?
A: I agree about Barcelona. I was there already three times and has traveled almost the entire city.

Q: And if you could be in any place of the globe, just by clicking your fingers, where would he go?

I also like her thoughts on her travels, especially the bit about the "dinosaur island"...she is an imaginative person no doubt. Hopefully, that shows more and more in her skating as well.

I'm glad that she doesn't care what people say online about her figure...good for her! I tried to read a little bit of that 43-page(!) thread about her in The Edge and it's full of some very creepy comments nitpicking everything about her from head to toe. A barely 16-year-old girl...and surely in far better physical shape than most of the people who think they have a right to judge her.

I also like her thoughts on her travels, especially the bit about the "dinosaur island"...she is an imaginative person no doubt. Hopefully, that shows more and more in her skating as well.

Or maybe her trick for consistency is to imagine herself winning and the channel her imagination to make it happen? :biggrin:
