yes.
And btw Honda didn't get an UR for her 3T which looked as much as UR as Polina's 3Lo......

For one who complains about Alina's PCS score..... judges reduced about 0.7 points from what it was at the GP final .......
and !surprise! increased hugely the PCS score of all japanese ladies......
Marin got more in PCS that what she had ever!!
same for Sakamoto who got 1.5 points more in PCS than what she had ever got before.

looks like the judges are going to push hard for a Japanese to win....... even with unfair UR's calls....

Let's be real, Japanese girls skated very well this SP in this exact competition. (and this time Zagitova was the best). We tend to judge skaters in general, and judges are there to score skaters on that exact time skaters are skating. It's not the point in the fact that one best skater deserves to win every time for the reason he/she is generally the best, cause in that case there is no need for competition and sport in general...

I really can't see a problem with Marin's 3T or Yuna's 3Lz. I look at the trajectory of the jump and at the direction of the blade on landing. What are you looking at?

https://twitter.com/QuadAxel3Toe/sta...67440609857538 it's full as daylight in real time in case someone doesn't have some eyesight problems .. and they increased her PCS she was way better here than ever.. and when you post some criterias and isu handbooks for me you should be perfectly aware that you can't compare different panel scores in cop system- this is re Alina's score
It's not me who complained about Alina's PCS.... or Marin or Sakamoto.
it was you)

I just don't agree with unfair UR's calls... If you want to be super-strict on calling jumps, you should be super-strict for everyone. No picking and choosing.......

:drama:the ladies happened while I was having a shift as well... how sad... it is interesting to see the results.

One thing, this mean Shin Amano will not be at WC. :party2:

not sure about him anymore......

Myriam LORIOL-OBERWILER Swiss- she was the main caller not Amano, when assistant and specialist disagree controller voice decides - so don't put all blame on Amano.
and no Japanese or Asian judge in panel- how about this.....

I also don't like unfair UR calls. The thing is that we two obviously seem to have different assessment criteria when it comes to jump rotation. I agree with Mr. Amano on this one. The only question mark for me is Polina's 3Lz and the video angle for that isn't very good, so it's hard to tell. But she had problems with the 3T take-off so a UR on the 3Lz isn't unlikely because of that. We all know that Amano is a tough caller and that he doesn't care about nationality. Ask Mao. But this could be good for Polina in the long term, if this is really a problem for her and she didn't just have a bad day.

Since I'm at work, I haven't seen a lot yet, but I'm so heartbroken for Polina :sad21: She's my absolute favorite lady out there right now, junior or senior, and she is among the most talented skaters I've ever seen... to see her struggling so much is just such a punch in the gut. Injured right before JWC last season when she was by far and away the favorite, had to pull out of JGPF, out of Senior nats... her injury list is just so much longer then it should be for any 15 year old. I'm just hoping that she will come back in the LP and really deliver, pull up a few places and then stay injury free.

All that whining done, I think the 3T & 3Lo were definitely under. The 3Lz call was harsh and IMO wrong, but in the end, the jump still came done pretty close to borderline, so.... and Yuna Shiraiwas jumps were IMO more around. It's only a few degrees, but when it's around the 1/4 rotation point, it can make all the difference. So I wouldn't complain too much about the technical calls, and especially not talk about any hidden agendas with this.
(Why are Kaoris jumps being discussed at all? That 3T was a quad before it was an uderrotated triple. Girl had air time for days!)

On the other hand, I'm super happy for Eunsoo, hopefully she'll kill it in the LP too. Same for Kaori :cheer:

Agree. Kaori's jumps are clean as a whistle and airy and big with great flow out. Loved Eunsoo all this season. What personality she has. :luv17: Besides Polina, Marin has the most polish and sophistication of the junior ladies, but also jumps that are tight. -And if they are tight now, what happens when she grows a little more? But as of now, she's gorgeous and she skates like a dream.

Kobe team Sonoko Nakano and Mitsuko Graham are doing such a great job both Mai and Kaori , these girls have amazing ss , speed across the ice and great jumps they lack a bit refinement and polishing but I hope it will come too. What I have noticed currently Kobe girls have the best technique in Japan, better than Hamada and Nagoya teams.. its great to see because I always had a feeling that Japan lacks technical coaches. So Good to see new teams from "not so famous" school.

disagree
Yuna's 3Lz (clearly underrotated in slow-mo), 3Lo not more rotated than Polina's...
and if you're so strict on calling one jumps UR's, be the same for everyone.

I disagree with every UR call on Tsurskaya... the only one that even looks borderline to being UR is the 3Lo.

Are they both from Kobe? Good for them! Mai and Kaori have jumps that 'look right' and they zoom across the ice. These basics are better learned first IMO.

Yes they are from Kobe and train under the same coaching team.

I am very happy because the best technical coach Japan ever had is Tsuzuki sensei. Nagabuko and Mura's dad studied from him and that's it. Yamada team is very weak in technical , Hameda team is so so in technical but good at polishing and refinement, Tokyo is also so and so.. usually best schools of Japan are distributed historically in Osaka and Nagoya, so I am happy that this new school has appeared with outstanding skaters.

I watched live and i tell u Polina did great minus the fall..we were shocked with her scores also..the japanese girls rise above the occasion but not enough to beat Alina..Marin skated smoothly but Alina's jumps were superb..it looks so clean and effortless..there are too many disappointing scores today but Im just so happy that Holly qualified..she's so beautiful to watch even though she's tiny..

Honda is the class of the field. She is making a comeback of sorts though at this worlds. Her skates this GP season haven't always been the best. So its just the same old judges giving scores based on reputation rather than actual performance. I sometimes find Zagitova quite mechanical by comparison. Lets hope Honda is even better in the long because thats the only way she'll post a decent score.
