And their PCS were better than P/C four years ago, so what

Which was outrageous even back then, but that is another issue :)
I just don't think Alexandra/Ivan have strong SS in comparison to the teams I mentioned, that is just IMO. Not having strong SS in ice dance affects the overall look of the dance, which simply gives an overall look of second tier dance. For example, I think B/S are miles ahead in this respect and the teams are virtually tied

I agree, but they didnt show it today. And today is what is matter... And back than S/B performed better than P/C. Its important what you show on ice at the competition day...

Now the protocols are visible at the above link

13 10s for P/C

Judge 4 and 5 (GBR and FIN) marked the twizzles with +3

Hmm disappointing position for the French teams, in my opinion. Can anyone explain what happened? I don't really understand Ice Dance scoring too well.

Their lifts are great and Luca projects really well but their basic SS is just blah.

So much toe picking just to gain speed. And their edges are mediocre. really go watch them and compare it to other teams how much they are using their toepicks.

They are very one dimensional with their programs but then again its working so I don't blame them for milking it. And they are really charming when they are spot on.

Places 2-4 are very close. I would love to see Luca and Anna medal here. I love their FD! This scoring brings to light how critical it will be as to who will be the Tech Specialist at the Olympics and, to a lesser degree, the composition of the judging panel. Has that been decided yet?

So Cortney MANSOUROVA / Michal CESKA's twizzles were marked as an illegal element so that's why their score is so low and the 2pts deduction;

You must keep in mind panel of judges cant see everything in real time. It was not a visible mistake tho, i saw it only on replay

True, but the purpose of +3 is for something exceptional so it should not be awarded lightly. And to be honest, if I noticed the mistake right away I think judges at this level should also be able to notice those kinds of things.

Some judge felt violated.

Tech Panel at Olympics is

Technical Controller: Hilary SELBY (GBR)
Technical Specialist and Assistant Technical Specialist: Slavka GRINCOVA (SVK), Tae-Hwa YANG (KOR)

They have drawn 13 countries (Canada, France, United States, Russia, Italy, Israel, Poland, Ukraine, China, Turkey, Spain, Slovak Republic, Japan) for the judging panel. 9 of the 13 will be drawn before SD. Then the other 4 will score in the FD replacing 4 of those who judged the SD.

p/c had their small wobbles(i expected 79-80 to be honest)but still they re going straight to ogm
the spanish team surprised me pleasantly...i enjoyed them very much

Not every judge can see everything in real time (they must at least write the numbers down during skating)... Because of that we have 9 judges in the pannel (with one or two of them averagely per element not seeing right... i mean, its just a normal human mistake as a product of our visual system) :)
