He basically said that they wanted to show a new image of Alina, to show her sexiness. And the merits are to Eteri cause she knows how to portray sexual images without being vulgar :laugh:

Let's give the hall paragraph...

"The Ex dance is called "The Priestess of fire". I found the music for this EX in the summer and immediately realized how i visualize this program and who will skate it. We put it together with Eteri, I found it very interesting in terms of choreography and style. I wonted to show that Alina can be variant in choreography and that we work on possession on both of skating (skill's) and body in order to set a program of this level.

I think many noticed sexuality in this program, but not vulgarity, this is very important aspect and here is Eteri's great merit, as she knows exactly how to correctly present woman's sexuality"

Maybe it is tars' blog? 😁

I can feel tars offended from the distance! tars would never dream of having Scherbakova in anywhere else but S+ and would group Tarakanova with Kostornaya in anywhere from A- to B+ lol.

I don't speak Russian so I can't look at the proof links, but apparently there are new rules that you have to be 14 or older to take part in senior nationals. Is this true??:eeking:

On the contrary, I think it does not suit a little girl image.

as I read on the forum.
2015 rules when Alisa Fedichkina (13 y.o.) was invited to RN is exactly the same as 2017/2018 rules.
Everything should be the same. And Sasha and Nastya should be allowed to participate.

The popular culture has too much success in crystalizing the association between animal prints and being sexy, making so many people fail to see other interpretations.
lol whenever I see/hear about animal prints my immediate association is Yuri on Ice

I am surprised by the directness of Daniil's statement. There is an English interview with Eteri in which she was asked about Ashley skating like a woman in contrast to the Russians who are obviously a lot younger. She didn't agree with the comment on age differences and said that any skater can come to portray femininity (Evgenia in this case) They probably try to train their skaters to skate more like a woman and less like a child when they become seniors.

I think the program had certain parts that were inappropriate for a child (people who don't see them are just naive and need to be protected from the evils of this world ) but I realized that it all depends on how you define a child in moral and legal terms. I (unfortunately) know a lot about the children's right issues, sexualization of children and abuse etc. so I have quite strict lines when it comes to age limits. I understand that most people here either don't care or don't think that 15 is too young for portraying sexual imagery, so I am beginning to think that it's okay as long as the majority thinks it's okay. I think cultural differences play a lot too, there are different ages of consent in different countries etc.

However, from a purely personal perspective: It's quite vulgar to me too lol. I rarely watch exhibitions because of these efforts "to be different". Different usually translates into vulgar in my experience :palmf:

yes. but it's just wiki and not the full rules.
Alisa in 2015/2016 season had participated in RN when she was 13 y.o. with the same rules.
There's always was an exception for someone who participated in JGPF

To each his own. I prefer elegance and control over 'wildness' in fs indeed. Shcherbakova is super elegant from head to toe, Kostornaya from head to knee, Tarakova is hardly elegant at all imho.

Haha, I knew they had to do something with the big bunch of technical monsters potentially outskating Olympic participants!
They narrowed the number - now underscoring games will be less glaring for public. Need to say I'm not criticizing it - it'd be indeed weird and unflattering to send, let's say, 7th place Nats finisher to Olympics.
Would appreciate some official source to the new rules though, thx in advance.

Re: Zagitova EX
1. Let's not fall into another extreme - she IS sexy in this program. But there is fine line between sexy and vulgar and imo she's not crossing it with that little ice rubbing in her semi-transparent, tight and slick tiger costume she's doing in the beginning.
2. She's professional senior skater earning several thousands of dollar each tourney, seeking for quick establishment as a senior in crucial Olympic season, surrounded by professional adult coaching staff at the highest world level. I'm sure they know, what they're doing.
3. I also advice those outraged to go out more often and look around the world they're living in.
Believe me, things don't look rosy at all and that Russian figure skating upbringing is one of the safest bet up there.

Looking through couple of last novice tourneys.
Those b. 2005+ Russian babies seem to be weaker than 1996-2004 ones, don't you think?

Golden generation will probably dominate till 2022 and then Japanese and Koreans take over next quad, until "Lipnitskaya's children" born 2010+ arrive...

I wish Poland would have even a couple of those Russian babies in our figure skating. Total drought. As far as I know there is no even girl at all in Poland right now (no matter the category) that would attempt 3F let alone landing such jump :( 3Lz is like a daydream.

Those landing triples of any sort you can count on two hands.
