Mai better be selected for the world team.

Unless she bombs Nationals, she likely will be selected. Her scores this season are far lower than Rinka, Kaori, and Hana have put out at their best, but her consistency is a real asset. Kaori will need to be on her top form at Nats, because she has not put out two solid programs yet this season and could finish very low at JNats. There is a real opening now for Rinka, Rika, Rion, and Rino to sneak on the team. I want Kaori to bounce back, though... I love her skating so much.

This happens every season. Kaori always has inconsistent performances in the first half of the season, then she gets much better in the second. I hope that’s what happens again. Today was just really off.

My feed from the ISU stream was horrible—choppy and jerky. Ted sounded like Bugs Bunny but I could not understand him. I assume that it is probably due to my VPN but I wonder if anyone else had problems.

I didn't look at the slowmo but perhaps she underrotated it so much so that they counted it as an overrotated double instead?

Another note on the protocols, how can they not call more edges? Levito's and Sakamoto's opening 3lz were clearly on an inside edge.
