Who cares.

Apparently you since you took the time to post about it.

The amazing thing to me is that she has decent flow out of the last jump, where it's not super-slow. I hate 3 jump combos where after the 3rd jump the skater is basically stopped on the ice.

Wouldn't zayaking prevent this combo from being done in competition?

Yes, and that's the problem. At worlds she did

3F+3T
3Lz
3F
3Lo
2A+2T+2T
3S+3T
2A

She could substitute

3F+2T
3Lz
3F
3Lo
2A+2T
3S+3T+3T (+3T. but the 4th jump wouldn't count)
2A

Exactly the same jumps, just rearranged.

Indeed, on first look I immediately thought she could go on with a couple more toeloops. Very impressive, to say the least.

Which brings me to the old point that COP does not reward doing more difficult combos as long as you have the same jumps somewhere in the program. Wasn't there the idea of adding a percentage bonus for the second and an increased bonus for a potential third jump? I think I read it somewhere in the forum.

They should just let a skater tack on as many jumps as they like but attach Zayek to the BV and allow the extra jumps to count toward GOE and even PCS although I'm tired of the constant rule changes more than anything :gaah:

I also think one of the judges should be given a mic and forced to yell "Ultra Combo" everytime a combo jump with bonus jumps goes down.

girl can break any record if the there is no zayaking.

:hap93:

i think the last WC is suggesting there need to be more space to increase difficulty in jump layout aside from 3A.
everyone can do 3-3 with ease now.

This is indeed awesome.

Next challenge: Tano on every jump, 3TanoS+3TanoT+3TanoT+3TanoT. And maybe some loop combo :)

The last triple was cheated, but good job.

She should practice 3Sal+3Toe+3Loop now.

:) But actually, that raises a good point. These jumps are really pretty. She should jump like that throughout the program and save the Tano for one gigantic and climactic jump at the end.

Also … I like the "costume." I wouldn't mind at all if skaters competed in practice leotards.

Ok, let's see. Three triple toes in 4.378 seconds, upscaled to 4 minutes gives 162 toeloops. Replacing the first with the leading Salchow would result in a nice 3S-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T-3T with a BV of 696,7 points. Too bad she needs to make room for the other jumps, spins and steps.

Btw. does anyone know if the second-half bonus applies when the combo is started in the first half but finished in the second?

SCNR

IIRC the combo won't get a bonus if it started before the midway point and ended after. And I just can't wait to see her do this combo, not even Yuzuru can beat her. The BV of this combo is already higher than two times of Yuzu's WR total score. #FearTheBear

I strongly second that. Those sequins and illusion fabric are just unnecessary distractions. This isn't a fashion show.

I think that is the new rule.

Conceivably if you tacked on an extra jump, that could count as a "creative exit". Also, it could count toward INT if the music (from Chorus Line) went, "I can do this! I can do this! I can do THIS!!…and I can do that!"

A-mazing. Most impressive combo I've ever seen from a female skater. She could do that in her long, but for her other combination, she would have to do a 3F-.5Lo-3S or 3F-3Lo or any combo that does not include a 3T

No, she couldn't; three 3Ts would be zayaking.

Before I saw the decimal point, I thought you were suggesting that Evgenia should do a 3F-quintuple loop-3S. :p

Am I the only one who sees the under rotation on the third jump and the almost under rotation on the second?

Someone commented that she should do a 3 axel, considering the 2 axel is her least consistent jump I don't think that is going to happen.

Other than that she is pretty much the Simone Biles of the skating world right now.

Is it safe to say that she's had the most impressive debut senior season of any female skater?

I suppose, but remember that before the age rules were instituted, skaters could make their senior debuts at a much younger age. Both Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski, althought not "debutantes," had impressive senior seasons at ages that would not have allowed them to compete under the current rules--Michelle in 1995-96 at age 15 (never defeated? Or maybe once in a minor event); Tara in 1996 and 1997 at age 14 (didn't win everything but won Nationals and Worlds).

However, both had experience competing at Worlds prior to winning (Kwan twice). This was Evgenia's first trip.
