- then his reaction when he finally figures out he won!

- the patented KerrySmirk from Skate America after cleanly landing the quad in both programs
- and his gorgeous triple Axel in the SP

- Brooklee's layback being the class of the field in the sadly truncated TEB

As we look forward to the GPF lets take a moment and share some of our favorite moments from the GP this year. Things like your favorite performance, best comeback,best StSeq, best K-n-C, etc... I'm especially interested in hearing from some ID and Pairs fans :yes:

I'll do highlights for me for each GP:

Skate America: Well I went to it and it was amazing to see but here are some highlights of mine.
1. Jason's comeback FP.
2. Shoma Uno bringing the roof down with his FP.
3. Max Aaron doing the same thing as Shoma.
4. Astakhova/Rogonov's FP. It told a story to me.
5. Seeing Gilles/Poirier's SD and FD live!

Skate Canada:
1. Ashley Wagner's SP and FP. BOOM BOOM BOOM.
2. Yuzuru Hanyu's comeback skate.
3. Keegan Messing's SP. That song is not immature/juvenile. Monty Python is not really for kids.
4. Tim Dolensky's FP.

Cup of China: I didn't really pay attention to that one too much cause of stuff happening and also time zones.
1. Boyang Jin's historic 4Lz-3T.
2. Rika Hongo's skate.

Trophee Eric Bompard:
1. Maxim Kovtun's SP. Yeah. I can't get over it. No shame whatsoever.
2. Gracie Gold's SP. WOW.
3. Roberta Rodeghiero's SP. Loved it!


Rostelecom Cup:
1. Alaine Chartrand's SP! I was freaking out in happiness the whole time.
2. Adian Pitkeev winning his first GP medal.
3. The surprise flip of results for Adam Rippon and Ross Miner.
4. Polina excelling in her SP.
5. Stolbova/Klimov redeeming themselves from Skate America.

NHK Trophy:
1. OBVIOUSLY Yuzuru Hanyu breaking the SP, FP, and total score record! First skater to get 200+ in FP and first to get 300+ points in the overall score. WOW! Those TES were high! Those two skates were THE definition of PERFECT skating in the men's discipline. Plushy will have to share his throne with Yuzuru or pass it on to him.
2. Courtney Hicks winning her first GP medal and it being silver.
3. Boyang Jin making the GPF and showing that his 4Lz wasn't a one-time thing.
4. Scimeca/Knierim becoming the first American pairs team in 8 seasons to qualify for the GPF.
5. Satoko Miyahara achieving a total score of 200+ points becoming only the 14th ladies singles skater (Yes I went back and counted) to achieve a total score of 200+ points in an international competition.

4) Yuzu breaking records at NHK - he's out of this world
5) Jin landing the quad lutz/triple toe at CoC
6) Max Aaron winning at SA
7) Gracie's short at TEB
8) Elena's comeback at CoR

- An emotional Morgan Cipres literally having no words ... unable to respond to Ted Flett's question. ​

Adding to what karne said about the Skate America's men's medal ceremony:

Then when Shoma reaches Max at the podium, they share a nice handshake and then a hug too.

- When it is Jason's turn to approach the podium, no handshake with Max -- only because Max already has his arms stretched out wide in eagerness :yes: to receive and return Jason's hug. Max even crouches down with bent knees to lower himself closer to Jason's level as they embrace.

I know you can't use this entire sequence, Sam-S. Just encouraging you use to take a look at it .

There were many, but two off the top of my head right now are:

-the Shibs' FD at SC - their reactions, the crowd's reaction, the twizzles, the song, everything

-Patrick's LP at SC - not only the absolutely gorgeous clean program, but his reaction afterward was just precious. I've never seen him in tears after a performance like he was at SC. Such joy and contentment. Knowing how freaked out he was right before he skated that LP makes it all the more meaningful and special.

Off the top of my head, Brendan Kerry's SA debut, Nicole Rajicova's SA and CoC (I think?) debuts, Grant Hochstein coming out of nowhere for two 4th place finishes, Julianne and Charlie making a snazzy debut with two 3rd place finishes, Yuzu's world record (obviously), Hubbell/Donahue's SP... I'm sure there are a ton more. Maybe I'll edit later if I think of them.

So many of my fav moments have been touched upon, but the one that touched my heart the most is Grant Hocstein's GP finishes this yr, particularly at NHK. He hadn't done a GP since SC10..and has struggled quite a bit..I have gotten to know him pretty well..and he is a wonderful young man..This was a breakthrough for him and I hope that he continues.

I'm a HUGE fan of his LP this year! And in this case the vocals don't distract; they add to the effect that Grant creates. I love the choreography and intention behind his movement. Seeing him skate so well on the GP was an unexpected treat.

- NHK gala final: the combined effort to help that domino stand up
- NHK gala final: Hanyu's skate with the girl PooBear
- NHK gala: Boyang forgetting where the exit of the rink was
- NHK ladies sp: Mirai looking happy at her score
- NHK men's sp: Boyang's look after his score was announced *cute*
- NHK men's sp + lp: Hanyu's reaction to his score
- NHK: Boyang's ducking for the photographers to get a good picture of Hanyu and Mura
- NHK men's sp: some moments in Kovtuns sp choreography got me laughing out loud

- SC men's press conference sp: Daisuke Murakami's press conference - he's so honest and adoreable
- SC men's press conference lp: Daisuke Murakami press conference - saying that at first he was dissappointed by his third place finish, but then he realized that he placed right behind an OGM and a 5 time world medalist, so he got over it pretty quickly
- Yulia with that huge bear (forgot which GP it was)

- not in the grand prix, but elena radionova being interviewed:
women: will you become a world champion?
elena: Oh thank you!
women: that was a question!
