I'm curious: What kind of book? A traditional paper-and-binding kind of book?

In any case, I trust your book will give will credit to Layback for the concept and to all the GS members who contributed their favorites. (I don't mean me -- I did not contribute anything, but so many others did.)
And if moriel's compilation is helpful to you in creating the book, moriel should get credit too.

My very rough eyeball estimate based on moriel's list is that GS members have contributed approx. 200-250 programs so far?

I don't know yet, it's just an idea as for right now and I don't know if I'd ever get it published... but if it did, I'd credit everyone. :slink:

Peggy Fleming 68 Nationals https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdPKgg8SGys The same as her Olympic skate but without the mistakes. Love the spread eagle into double axel into spread eagle. Gorgeous layback, too.

Michelle Kwan 2003 Nationals LP http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1...gure-skating-championships-long-program_sport The only one I can find with the sound.

Shen and Zhao 2007 Worlds LP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niiLSEhPR74 A few mistakes but it didn't really matter. Tarasova said this program made her cry.

Ashley Wagner 2012 Worlds Black Swan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXc8UO8WLTQ Her breakout year.

Irina Rodnina, Alexander Zaitsev, Kalinka Malinka. Bratislava 1973, Worlds, SP.
The music stopped during the programme and they kept skating in silence, then the audience started to clap. At the end there was a standing ovation, not a single judge gave them 6.0, it was said, they got a deduction because had skated without music. And they got a gold medal upon completion.

Irina Rodnina is eleven times European champion, ten times World champion and a triple Olympic champion.

A few more I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Alexei Yagudin - Revolutionary Etude (2001 Worlds SP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og59QN4L_ko - I happen to think this is his best performance ever
Stephane Lambiel - Four Seasons (2006 Worlds LP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F893u_lTNVw - a lovely soft touch to this very classical music, and the last minute is just pure joy to watch
Javier Fernandez - Malaguena (2015 Cup of China SP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9JLYumaNaU - my favorite men's short since Yagudin's Winter (hope he goes 100% clean at Euros or Worlds to do this program full justice)
Javier Fernandez - Guys and Dolls (2015 GPF LP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c81eMGmpYoc - this is the first program in my book where the vocals fully serve the program, and is choreographed and performed as much to the lyrics as to the music itself
Shen/Zhao - Who Wants to Live Forever (2010 Olympics SP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dbqksMgGfo (from 4:00) - one of the best pairs' short programs of all time
Shen/Zhao - Romanza (2007 Worlds SP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5YwnDdnnCw - another one of the best pairs' short programs of all time
Volosozhar/Trankov - Jesus Christ Superstar (2013 Skate America LP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxxLXHL7rcA - lovely thematic touches in this grandiose program performed with pure perfection, and a fully deserved world record
Stolbova/Klimov - Addams Family (2014 Olympics LP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU-KfPZOUsk - a real star-making turn

I don't know whether Plushenko's Bolero at 2001 Worlds was mentioned above, but it is because of his breathtaking and perfect performances (both SP and LP) in Vancouver Worlds that I fell in love with figure skating!

always so positive. look, we can't all like everything that's listed but being respectful to other users would be great, as well as to the athletes. I truly enjoy D/R.

I am sorry you feel offended but just like your likes I have my dislikes. But perhaps this is not the right thread for voicing my dislikes. I removed my post.

Tonya Harding - 1991 US Nationals LP.

Tonya at her very best, a joy to watch. Also very sad to watch, because she wasted her incredible talent. Remembered almost entirely for the infamous knee-whack and not for her abilities on the ice.
