Aw, Rika is off the podium again. But on the other hand, I'm happy for Satoko, Wakaba, and Mai! I guess it's pretty obvious who will be on the world team. These three were by far the best in Japan this season.

Rika Hongo - triple flip, double loop (two-foot), triple lutz, double axel-triple toe (underrotated?)-double toe, double axel, triple flip-double toe, triple salchow-triple toe
194.28 (125.08), into 5th

Well, okay...can't expect her on the podium with that. I'm a bit shocked, though. What happened there?

I was just thinking of that... Mai for the 3rd World team spot? Mao? Rika?

Mai, I think. Everything else would be majorly unfair to her. That can crush a skaters confidence. I think she isn't the most exciting skater but that girl earned her place this season, definitely.

She has been quite consistent this season. She will do well enough at WC.

Pogomon Go!

Anyway, Satoko wouldn't have made the podium in Russian Nationals. Are Russian Nationals more inflated? Or are they just better? Who knows....

i think the top 3 are probably the most consistent choices for the worlds team and might have the best shot at securing 3 spots for Japan's olympic team

i think Mai did enough to earn herself a spot at word team by JSF standarts during the season, it would be realy unfair if she isnt chosen, last year she watched nationals from hospital room and now she is on the podium!!! ( and case can be made for silver medal :slink: )

Suzuki Saya - her lutz confused the heck out of me, I didn't even realize she was doing lutz until the casters mentioned. Another technically strong skate! Sweet reaction in K&C too.

Time for me to go to bed (3am :bed:) so I guess I'll catch up with the rest of the programs later on. Congratulations Satoko!

Bravo, Mao.

You gave the first performance of the season for me in which I never once cared to peep up at the TES box.

Doesn't mean squat in terms of boosting your score, but you moved me deeply. This is why I watch figure skating.
