I think it was confirmed that in spring of 2015 Anna did try to switch but no one else would take her. I think she did have one actual try out with another coach that didn't work out at that time too. So she returned to Tsareva, who was willing to still work with her. Probably if Tsareva hadn't been the fed would have stepped in to find some solution for her but that obviously didn't happen. Interestingly following that she did have her best season with the World medal and all.

I don't think this is true ... Even she is sometimes a trainwreck ... other skaters are to .... and she doesn't have a fame of a diva who doesn't like to work ... she is a hard worker ... and most coachs like skaters who work hard ....If she stays with Tsareva is because she likes their ... even if she doesn't smile a lot ( ksenia doesn't smile too) ... Anna is a possible medalist when she competes ... do you think that the russia federation didn't would change her coach if they think Tsareva wasn't good enough for Anna ... or other coach wouldn't like have a skater who can bring medals home even if she falls and fails sometimes ...

This was in the Anna forum: https://mrsport.ria.ru/figure_skating/20171027/1127833287.html ... I think all coachs wants a fighter

This is a good question. With Anna's potential, I would think that coaches would be begging to have her as part of their stable of athlete's. Look at Brian Orser and Raf. Especially Brian, who has OGM Hanyu and World Champion Javi in his rink. Raf has Adam and Ashley who are huge stars in the US and he seems to be making things work. I can't imagine any coach saying no to a skater like Anna.

Spirals, I know it might create controversy but, I think Anna could use a coach like Kori. Imagine her with the calm that Kori has instilled in Jason Brown and Rohene's choreography. I have always had a soft spot for Anna because she reminds me of Maria Butyrskaya. A seemingly stoic yet, fragile diva and I always want to see her skate well.

ITA. All of it. Every bit of it. Another dream coach would be someone like Tom Z, but Kori is perfect. She is highly intelligent, in tune with the skater's feelings, and it would be really interesting to see what she could do with Anna. BTW, there is another skater in this comp that reminds me of Maria Butyrskaya....

Honestly...their loss. When a skater wins/loses/has mental problems/breaks World records, it's not always on the coach. Elena changed coach, but I don't see much improvement there. Anna Tsareva has time to concentrate on Anna. Perhaps she is just not very much into expression. Or she is a strict mistress and Anna needs that kind of thing. Who knows.

OK, half hour to go. Must rake some pin needles. Will have my free range, free trade, organic coffee, Egg omlette with home grown cherry tomatos and spinich, and orange juice. Dog is ready to cuddle!

Is there a thread about predicting the olympic team medals? I'm worried for the U.S.

Yes there is but, I'm not sure where. Right now, the best hope for the US lies in the hands of their Men and Dance Teams. We've haven't had a great pair team in a very long time. My biggest disappointment right now, is the fragility of our women when they compete. Karen, our current champion, can go from frightening like 4CC to brilliant like she was at Worlds. I just don't trust them in competition like I did with Michelle Kwan and Sarah Hughes.
