My wives are at it again. Turning up for the same competition. At least there are only 3 of them this time.

Strangely, I haven’t put any of them down to win. Instead, I went for the little Tatar princess from Udmurtia. But, I reckon it’s going to be a tight fight between her and my Canadian wife.

Next came my 2 Russian wives. Much as it pained me to place Liza off the podium, I do think Maria has a better chance.

Mai Mihara was definitely going to be the skater to complete my Top 5, but I had a dilemma over who to have as my alternate: Laurine, Lil ‘Bet or Polina E. You all know I like to cheer Polina E. on, partly because she is so under-rated, and partly because of her Russian heritage. But, I really rate Laurine and Elizabet as well.

In the end, I went with my heart and chose Polina. With the other two, I decided to look at their absolute PB’s, and they were actually pretty close. So, I went for my heart here as well, and picked Laurine (who, incidentally, did have the higher absolute PB).

For the remaining three, I just put them in the most likely order I could think of. I know Yuna isn’t very experienced at Senior level. But, she impressed me at the NHK last week.

In Men, apart from the Top 3, I hadn’t a clue what order to put them in!

Yes, after what happened in China, I know that putting Javi on top is a risk. But, I have faith that that was just a blip.

Aside from the podium, I had a 4-way battle for the remaining Top 5 positions. In the end, although you would expect Alexander Samarin to get one of the places, I put my faith in Vincent Zhou and Alexei Bychenko. I put Samarin as my alternate, but that was a last minute change of mind, because I had originally put Misha Ge in there.

After that, I put the scourge of Predictions Games – Denis Ten. He could win; he could be last. You just never know which Denis will show up. And then Moris completed my top 10, but he could conceivably finish higher.

Apologies to the home fans, but the French guys rounded up my predictions. Unfortunately, I do think they will battling with each other over last place. (Where is Chafik when you need him?)

In Pairs, it was pretty straightforward. I just moved them into the order I wanted straight away, without needing to think about it.

BUT… wait! What?! My eldest daughter is finally competing in her second Senior GP, after competing at Skate Canada in Singles in 1998?!

And her partner is also competing in his second Senior GP, after competing at the NHK in 2015.

Well done to the FFSG / ISU / whoever for giving Zoe and Chris the opportunity to compete at a GP again. I would love to see them finishing higher than 8th. But, the other partnerships are far more experienced.

In Ice Dance, there was no question over who I was putting in the Top 5, and in what order. In fact, there wasn’t any debate at all, because I knew what order I was going to put the remaining couples into as well.

After being impressed with them at the Cup of China, I would have liked to put Pogrebinsky / Benoit higher. But, all things being equal, I think that is where they will finish.

a fistful of observations:

- generally, lots of 30, 40 and 50 scores – that's because of common variations between 1 and 2 (Zagitova/Osmond) and 3 and 4 (Sotskova/Mihara), but almost no one predicted Sotskova/Osmond variation (in 2nd and 3rd);

- the skater who let everybody down collectively was Elizaveta Tuktamysheva predicted by majority on 5th place – this was 15 pts cut from the start

- our victor – Poice – was one of 2 players who predicted podium correctly (this achievement goes also to selene16angie), but Poice actually predicted top 4 correctly and that gave a victory edge this time (but commonly failed with Tuktamysheva on 5th);

- shoutout also to slider11 who – aside of above mentioned Poice and selene16angie – predicted Maria correctly on 2nd place!

- shoutouts to players who predicted Kaetlyn correctly on 3rd place, aside of Poice and selene16angie: college pat, jiawen2016, Marin, Marius, Mrs.P, Pippuripihvi, skatenewbie, Spirals for Miles, StitchMonkey – big round of applause!

- looking at the common mess with 5th place, big respect to players who correctly predicted another ET skater as 5th – as for Elizabet Tursynbaeva - Osmond4gold and rosacotton!!! Also, shoutout to those who secured 10 points for 5th place by predicting Yuna Shiraiwa there: chuckm, SashaJuliaSpins and sunnystars

- unfortunately, looks like Ice Diva and Kirei have posted their predictions after game cut-off (1h before the competition starts for the discipline), at least the time of their post says so, please correct me, if I'm wrong;

As always – please let me know in case of any miscalculations/discrepancies, this was my second scoring and I hope there was no major mishap!
