And my two favorites skate right next to each other :drama: I'll have to restrain from commenting, I probably won't be able to keep my calm

Praying I’ll get to use the Uno (#1) or the Jin (金) pun by the end of this competition, for Kazuki to have his best outing of the season, for Julian to finally get a good score, for Junhwan to continue with his consistency, for Lynette who is getting zero publicity from FSAT to have a great skate... the list goes on but basically for all skaters to do well and most importantly, no (more) injuries, please!

Huh. Shoma's planned program content has a different layout from earlier in the season (4T, 3S+3T, 3A instead of 4F, 4T+2T, 3A). He's taken the 4S out of his FS, too (only 3 planned quads instead of 4). I wonder how his ankle is doing. I hope he's okay.

His ankle is sprained. The 4F has apparently been a struggle, which is why he changed his SP combo to 3S-3T. But he was also doing the 4F in practise, so who knows what he’ll actually do.

I know that his ankle is sprained, which is why I was wondering how it was doing, since there's been a bit of time since Japanese Nats. I was wondering how much it had healed.

Interesting to know he'd been doing the 4F in practice - although he does still have it in his layout for the FS, so that could be why. The planned program content is certainly just a plan, though, so it will be interesting to see if he sticks to it.

I heard he actually sprained it again just before he left for 4CC :( I'm not sure I trust him to stick to the easier layout though so we'll see.

Seriously? I hadn't heard about that. :palmf: I really wish he'd take some time off from competing, because he's been having ankle troubles forever, and I'm afraid he's just exacerbating them more by constantly continuing to skate on it and probably never letting it heal as well as he should. Hopefully he knows his body well enough and knows what he's doing. :hopelessness:

“Shoma Uno revealed that after spraining his ankle at Nationals, he took 10 days off, but within a week of restarting practice, he sprained it a second time. He took a week off, but 2 days before heading to the US, he sprained it a THIRD time! He restarted practice after”

That article, jeez. At one point he says something like (my rough paraphrase), "Things like being injured aren't an excuse." I think being injured is actually a pretty good excuse, but what do I know? I'm never sure whether to admire Shoma's determination or just be terrified at how much he might injure himself. Three ankle sprains since December might be too many, dude!

Thanks for enlightening me, by the way. I don't use most social media, so I tend to miss stuff like this unless it comes up in one of the competition threads or it gets mentioned in a broadcast (in one of the languages I actually understand! :laugh2:)

Not going to be watching the Ladies or Men's Shorts, due to the need for sleep. But, I'll catch up tomorrow. And I'll add in the links to the archived livestreams when I get up tomorrow morning.

Here is the link for the ISU livestream on the Eurovision Sports website:
https://www.eurovisionsports.tv/isu/single-pair-skating-ice-dance/live.html?id=2419

Here is the link for the World Feed coverage of the Opening Ceremony on the British Eurosport Player (starts in 4h 25m from now):
https://gb.eurosportplayer.com/even...ionships/51bd9cf6-ff54-4312-b81b-e5875c31315b

Here is the link for the World Feed coverage of the Men's Short on the British Eurosport Player (starts in 5 hours from now):
https://gb.eurosportplayer.com/even...ionships/37f84677-7141-418f-99d3-2cd37b613f21

Unfortunately, none of the Short Programmes are being shown on Eurosport's linear channels. :disapp:

Here is the Time Schedule of the Men's SP:

And here is the Live Scoring:

Hope this helps.

I hope men will be better than ladies. I am sad about Alaine. That was quite unusual, as she either UR or fell, but no popping. There was time when SP was really good. It was the long where URs started to happen. It's all in her head. I fully understand as our head is not always working for our best options.
But, this the men thread, so good luck men!
