Natasha McKay (GBR)

Tech:

- Fine 3Lo+2T
- Eeked out the second 3Lo
- Step-out on 2A, maybe <
- Not a lot of speed through footwork, could be more complex (Level 3)
- Average camel spin (Lvl 3)
- Popped 1A
- Forward landing on 3S, maybe <
- Better second 3S+2T
- Okay 2Lz+2Lo
- Alright flying sit spin
- Adequate spiral in choreo sequence
- Fine combo spin, a bit rushed

Pres:

A little rough on the jump landings, wasn't able to get that ride-out from most of them. Still has pleasant posture and good feel for the music, but she was understandably focused on the technical content.

FS Score: 95.16, TES 46.00, PCS 49.16
Total Score: 151.56

It's starting!

And wow Li'l Bet is last up, any bets on if she'll try her Quad? That could blow everyone's predictions appart!

Good luck Natasha!

I believe some reports earlier was that the quad was not successful in practice.

Those wild arms give her a frantic quality, sort of like Elena Radionova, but like her she has some musicality and gives it her all on the performance side. Pity that the jumps aren't on her side but making the free skate is a huge accomplishment for her.

Ow Robin Cousins on the BBC is going in on Natasha McKay saying she needs better jumps.

With a 2lz 2lo I kinda get him. Disappointed she’s not going for the 3Lz.

The British Eurosport guys are the exact opposite. They are saying really nice and positive things about her.

For me, that was lovely.

Natasha's disappointed, but that's the competitor in her coming out.

Once everything sinks in, I hope she is proud of what she has achieved this week.

In my eyes, she should be! :agree:

Feigin has potential. At this point it's very very rough and performance isn't there at all. But hopefully she can keep improving.

She looked really slow and labored today, but she got it all done! Maybe some URs in there.

Alexandra Feigin (BUL)

Tech:

- Okay 3Lz, looks <
- Strong 3T+3T, good flow between jumps
- Nice 3F
- Back entry into combo spin, alright speed
- Edges a bit choppy in the footwork, not finished off and short (Lvl 2)
- Okay 3Lo
- Slightly better 3Lo+2T+2Lo
- Okay 3S, leaning on landing, maybe <
- Fine 2A+2A sequence, not a lot of speed going into them or out
- Not a bad flying combo spin with a good layback spin, good final position
- A bit unsteady in choreo sequence
- Nice sit spin position with a flexible cannonball

Pres:

- Mainly a trick-based program. She could work on gathering more speed and projecting outwards since she tends to look down. Just needs to work on the basics to finish each step.

Wow, Andrei Lutai! I know he's been coaching for a while but I haven't really thought of him since the... unpleasantness.

Congrats to Alexandra Feigin to a clean skate. She is definitely promising, she just needs to work on her expression and communication with the audience.

Jerusalem?!

Never knew Feigin was born there.

I take it she has Bulgarian heritage, as it seems a strange country to choose to switch to. Especially since Israel doesn't have a strong Senior Ladies skater at the moment.

Whatever the story, Bulgaria have hit the jackpot getting her! ;)

Overall a very good performance for Laurine. Shame for that 2nd Lz, she could have had at least 3 points more with just a 1T on the end of it

Laurine Lecavelier (FRA)

Tech:

- Shaky landing on 3Lz, maybe <
- Stumble out of 2A+3T
- Solid 3F, good comeback
- Tight and steady combo spin
- Good curves through step sequence, could have more speed and timing
- Nice donut position, could have better centering on flying camel spin
- Shaky 3S, maybe <
- Alright 2A+1Eu+2S
- Better 3Lz, but REP
- Okay spirals in choreo sequence
- Nice 3Lo to end the jump content
- Nice hair-cutter position in layback spin

Pres:

A fair performance. A few shaky landings that will be under review and some mistakes in the quality of the jump passes. I'm not sure if this music really helps her style of skating since I find her more energetic and vibrant, and this music choice sort of flattens and slows it down. But I think she does what she can with the choreo.
