The pre-competition practice (on 22nd) for men's will start soon. As the practices will not be open to public, there will be update from news media later on. Or else, the following twitter accounts are providing on-site practicing reports:

https://twitter.com/figure365
https://twitter.com/j_kino_nikkan
https://twitter.com/sponichiyamato

*It's announced prior to the practice that Hanyu will not participate in the practice session. But he will show up in the opening ceremony and drawing of SP starting order.

Yuzu says he's going to do the 4A in the free...he has never actually landed it, but he's going to try.

^ Why risk an injury before the OG? I just don't understand :scratch2: If this was WC 2022, then it would make sense to me, but two months before OG, and coming off an injury? :drama:

He has already won every major tournament including the Olympics (I.e., the so-called "Super Slam"). Landing the 4A has been a goal of Yuzuru's for a very long time. Thus, I would guess that Yuzuru's reason for skating at this time is not primarily to win another Olympic title, but to land that elusive 4A. I for one hope he is able to pull it off. 😁

Thats a good point. Do it now, and get into the history books no matter if there IS an olys or not? Then retire? Or wait till the Olys? I think if he has practiced it, he should do it now. He is going to the Olys anyway if they happen.....it will be great to see.....

I rather meant he would want to participate in his third OG which I believe he said yesterday, so why risk that participation if he wants to go... Anyhow, he'll do as he pleases, and he's bent on landing the 4A in front of the home crowd.

Well, looking at the video shown on twitter, he is half a turn short. There is YOLO and YOLO... however, as Meagan Duhamel kept saying : if you want to land a new jump in competition, you gotta try it MANY times... So, perhaps, that's the mindset here : trying it at Nationals, maybe in the hope that he can land it at the O GAMES.

It's clearly underrotated. Even my untrained eye can see he landed it mostly forward? So 4 turns, not 4 and half turn. We don't know how his other attempts looked like though.
It is, but it is still impressive he can do this, especially after an injury that took him out the whole Grand Prix series.
