Some of the jumps were a fight (that 3Lz-3S sequence was something) but I adore Mark. The commitment! The musicality! And the very very good music selections from Jesus Christ Superstar!

Everybody's probably getting fed up with me saying this, but he should have used the "Overture" for the whole programme. It's an epic piece in itself, and really summarises all the great music in the show.

Mark was the most inspired skater of the event. He showed the most heart all day.

He is literally the only skater here today who had facial engagement. He's nowhere near as refined or elegant as Kolyada, but you can tell what he's feeling when he skates.

So far, these Nationals are showing the up-and-coming generation really making waves. The successes of Mark, Andrei, Petr, Kao, Rino, Mana, Yuma, and Shun are making both the upcoming and 2026 Olympics interesting.
