So real quick, here’s the Anna story. At the comp I met a fellow fan who had attended Skate America 2017 in Lake Placid with her non-skate fan husband, Fan was at the rink and husband, having no interest in skating, decided to venture out for coffee.

In line at the coffee shop, he gets to chatting with an attractive woman there, explaining that they were in town to see the comp and that his wife, an avid fan and adult skater, was at the rink glued to the proceedings.

The woman identified herself as Anna Cappellini, and asked him to call his wife then and there so she could get on the phone with her to say hello!

Can you imagine sitting in a rink watching a comp, your phone rings and it’s Anna Cappellini on the line, wanting to say hello to you?

Anna and Luca were competing there, obviously, and later on, the couple ran into Anna again on the street. She invited them both to visit her in Italy if they ever found themselves there.

Italian hospitality at its finest!
